To make the judgement that it's flat based on a test with a balloon and a piece of paper is silly. The earth rotates. The earth is approx. 25,000 miles at it's equator. With a balloon, you'd have to rotate it in a medium that doesn't affect gravitational areas (like space, in regards to the earth) at a speed that's relevant to it's size to create the gravitational field. But,t hat's just the basic model. The core of the earth is made up of metals, minerals, stone, etc. The mass also creates the gravitational forces required while the earth spins.

So, since a balloon is hollow, it's not capable of creating it's own force of gravity, since it has next to no mass.

Oh, Muslims read from the Qur'an, which is supposed to be the untranslated Word of God. The Bible is a translation of the Word of God. Christ himself was from the middle east, and was most likely a Muslim before the label was given. To assume that the english translation is the only true, correct translation is not only arrogant, but foolish. It's always wise to learn about other religious beliefs even if they don't mirror your own. And to assume that yours, or anyone elses' for that matter, is the only TRUE word of God is the height of arrogance. And we all know what the Bible says about that.

Except IF YOU HAD BOTHERED TO READ THE THREAD you would have noticed that when this argument first came up, I tried the same experiment with denser and larger balls, the larger/denser the ball the easier the paper came off. Blows your theory out of the water.

We are intelligent, intelligent enough to be able to READ GOD'S WORD! If God made the Earth, wouldn't he know what shape it is?

Jeremiah 16:19:

According to Jeremiah 16:19, the earth has ends. There is no way a spherical earth could have ends, and therefore the earth must be flat. The Book of Revelation tells a similar story:

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

A spherical earth cannot have corners, it is scientifically impossible. The only logical explanation is that the earth is flat. Checkmate atheists!
