This is absurd.
How anyone, in this modern era of science and facts can deny that the world is spherical is beyond me.

The balloon experiment is stupid, surein principal the paper could represent the people and the balloon the earth, but due to the fact of this experiment taking place on earth, the paper will be attracted (through gravity) to the larger (more dense) of the two objects. This object will always be Earth.

Another thing mentioned was that "Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move." How can this be true? It is proven, and visible, that planets revolve around the Sun at the centre of our solar system. If the Earth did not travel around the Sun, we would be pulled into it. By saying that the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move, you are implying that the Universe revolves around our planet which is simply laughable.

Please note, I am not hear to receive abuse from members, I am simply stating facts. Please do argue in any way, but mentioning anything other than the topic of the thread will lead me to believe that you have no argument to the facts of science.

That's as far as I read.

1. Acceleration is the change of velocity with respect to time. Velocity is speed and direction. So a truck cannot be "accelerating at a positive velocity."
2. Why does the velocity have to be positive? What is so important about a particular direction?
