          I believe the phenomena of inertia is not being fully understood here. Inertia is the tendency of object in motion to remain in motion. When the tennis ball is tossed up, it holds with it the vertical momentum from the throw, but also the horizontal momentum of the movement of the thrower. So when you jump in the truck, you move along with the truck because you are already in motion. The key point here is that you jump vertically, otherwise you will move relative to the car.

          Perhaps before making unwise statements about the basis of science, further effort should be put into understanding the knowledge behind those backbones.

                The earth is not flat. How could we travel around the planet if it was flat? We would only be able to travel to one end of it. Pictures of earth from outer space also show that the earth is round, just like every other planet in the universe.

                              How does a picture prove a single thing?

                              Just go outside. Can you see the firmament like a big blue dome? Can you see the flat earth?

                              Now go back inside and read a Bible and match the two. Seamless, huh?

                              Now try to make the silly notions in science books match what you see.
