Again, you don't even understand your own argument. Secular physicists believe that everything has a gravitational pull, including the balloon. That means that the balloon WILL pull everything in the universe towards it, even if it is insignificant.

But like Pastor Ezekiel already pointed out, gravity is not mentioned in the Holy Bible, therefore it is false.

What happens?

This is a direct analogy to you jumping up from the earth. By the argument posited, the ball should go flying backwards at the same speed as the car, yet it doesn't. This is because the ball has the same momentum as the car (I may be wrong on the actual reasoning but this seems to be right but I can't be bothered to double check) so it travels with the car, it experiences no acceleration or deceleration - as do you when you jump from the Earth, you have the same momentum as the Earth so you are 'carried along' with it.

2. Slightly more difficult, but a correct analogy would be to have a solid ball (made up of rubber or something heavy), make it really large and then stick something really small to the bottom of it - let's see what the size should approximately be:

In this case, if the ball was suspended in a aircraft hanger the size of a football stadium, the piece of paper would have to be less than 1/30th of an inch.

So the balloon thing just will not give us an accurate analogy - and even my attempt is probably wrong. What I am trying to get at, is this is not a fair or just test, so we can't use it.

3. From this experiment, I expect to be able to see any place on Earth as long as I get high enough? Now, what's really interesting is that if you are up really high (like in a plane) you see that the horizon is actually curved - now we can say that the Earth is flat AND curved (so it's like a circle) which explains why the edges are curved...

But let's say we have great eye-sight. So from Uluru (Ayres Rock), or rather at a height above it, I can see the Opera House in Sydney. But this is the limit of my eye-sight, I am unable to see anything past it because it looks like the Opera house is right on the edge of the Earth...but I know it's not so where is the curvature coming from?

I know 3 is a little flimsy so another take is, what is at the edge of the world? Why aren't there any photo's? Why isn't it a tourist attraction? Surely, there would be a lot of people who would want to visit the edge of the Earth? I mean, it would be big money so god-less corporations would certainly want to exploit it - and us...

What happens?

Ok, so in your situation you are now going against air molecules, that is, when we are 'stationary' on Earth the air molecules are travelling at the same speed as us - sometimes they go faster thereby creating wind (although apparently that's created by differences in air pressure but let's keep things simple) when we start going faster than 'stationary' we are met with 'resistance' from the air.

That's why, even if there is no wind when we start the car, there is quite a bit of wind when we are travelling quickly.

Why we do this in the car is that it is a self-contained system, that is, we can treat everything in the car as 'one thing' just like everything on the Earth is treated as one when they calculate the Earth's orbit - essentially everything on the Earth is so tiny compared to the Earth itself that they - at best - have very little (negligent) effect on the Earth's orbit.

As soon as you escape the Earth's 'pull' then it starts moving away from you (this occurs when you throw the ball up when you are on the roof of the car, you are no longer 'a part' of the car - actually you are but the ball is too small to stay a part of the car, whereas you are so that's why if you jump when you are on the roof you don't fall off - unless the wind blows you off.

I thought I was being civil, but looking at your badges just shows me how godless both you and this site are.

The main premise of Jesus was love you, all of you, blatantly disregard this, twist words of reason around to suit your own end and choose to ignore reasoning.

What really impresses me is how utterly rude, cruel and mean some of the posts are by 'valued' members.

Now, this is probably my mistake, I thought as true Christians you would be loving and caring I seem to be wrong.

I think if God actually had human emotions he/she/it would be utterly ashamed of you - and of most religions really. Luckily, God is so far beyond us that we can make such horrendous errors of belief and right conduct that when we die we will all realise how wrong we all were.

O.P. check Nº3 So I've taken up Rev'd Osborne's suggestion and spent the past week on top of a mountain. The air was crisp and clear. The views outstanding. There was a large valley featuring a broad plain big enough to hold a complete smaller mountain range with a 3rd range visible in the background, probably 80 miles away. The plain was flat.
