Light is not Jesus, light is created by photon movement that reflects off things and in to our eyes which allows us to see things. If Jesus was real, then he would have been a carbon based (like all things alive) and therefore light would be produced by carbon , but it is not. Geometry was not designed, it just is. Geomentry is part of the fundamental facts of the universe.

Real science books are not harmful, Religion is harmful. Religion is evil as it makes people satisfied with not understanding the world, and it also makes people do evil things, believing that they are good. Science is the instrument through which we correctly understand universe. Science is more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking, a way of skeptically interrogating the universe. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we are up for grabs. I can't belive the stories that have been made up, about our relationship to the universe, look at what's out there, it isn't in proportion! You don't have to delude yourself with the iron age fairytales of religion. But the same spiritual fufilament that people find in religion, can be found in science, by coming to know if you will the mind of god. But science brings us face to face with the deepest mysteries, that were once treated only in religion and myth. Science is the real way we understand what's out there, religion is an attempt to explain what is known and what will be known. You are saying only the bible is necesary but nost of what it says has been disproven by science.

There is no purpose of life, life is simply an inevitable consequence of complex carbon based chemistry connected with the correct environment. When conciousness evolved, sentient beings attempted to find a meaning to life by making up an imaginary friend in the sky who is omnipotent and omniscient. I used caves in this context to refer to the non technologically advanced stage of human history when we wore cow skin and hunted fish with pointy sticks ect. Life is not about getting to another life, as when you die, your brain dies too and you lose all that once made you you. Atheists realise this and therefore realise how precious life is and how lucky we are to have a few decades of life in the universe. Because we realise this is the only life, we treasure it. Why should I respect an evil, capricious, megalomanical, stupid made up god that is obviously the most evil character in all fiction.

Shut up heathen! I can't understand your big words so they must be false! The Bible has a good, and simple answer to every question. The answer to any question you might have is one word. GOD! You have no reason to concern yourself with things like light, and the earth. Listen to these good Christian people, and ignore the scummy lying secular scientists. Read your bible as well!

Just because you don't understand something, does not mean it is false. I have no knowlegde of psychology, but that does not mean psychology is wrong, it just means I have no knowledge of it, but there are plenty of very smart people who do, just to use one example. Just because you don't understand science, does not mean it is not true. The simplest answer is not always tne right one. And just because I can think of a simple answer to something, does not mean it is right. I have read the bible, that's why I'm an atheist

I am very familiar with the bible, having read all it's contents and coming to the conclusion it was nonsense. However, the stories are very interesting and provide for interesting discussion. I have also read lots of Greek, Roman, Viking and English mythology. All are steeped in history and are very interetsing, but for your information, I put christianity in the same bracket as those other mythologies. Fascininating, but not true.

You see, the problem with your approach is that when on a single breath you're saying that the Bible is nonsense, and that you want to discuss it, most people with a different opinion will quite naturally feel offended, and that really is not the best starting point for a discussion. Besides, a discussion is to learn something. If you come to a discussion with your mind already made up then you won't learn anything. You see, brain is like a parachute - it works better when it's open.

I am not entirely sure what you mean by "steeped in history," but you should not be judging ahistorical accounts of what has supposedly happened at-the-beginning-of-time, and what is cyclically reenacted in accordance with a cyclical understanding of time, with your own Western idea of a linear time with actual history.

When you've already given the reason you'll reject it, ie. anything they offer, you'll claim isn't logical? Why should they bother even trying? Oh, and go read up on "poisoning the well" (it's a fallacy, and just makes you look bad).

Even Jesus says they should give up on you, and leave you to your fate:

Matthew 10:14 "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."

Mark 6:11 "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city."

Luke 9:5 "And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them."

See that? It appears three times in the Gospels, yet somehow you "read the Bible cover to cover", and manged to miss that completely. Yeah, everyone believes what you say.

This is powerful but appalling testimony from you. In fact, your words prove without any reasonable doubt that the Bible is a) correct in its tiniest detail and b) that you are in peril.

You admit that is is by choice to disregard Jesus. Well, Jesus was (and is in His current dwelling place Heaven) aware that this would take place. Even our resident atheist, Mr. Much, has noticed that you have chosen to disregard the data that are in the Bible. This was foreseen:

Proverbs 1:29
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

You hate knowledge. Instead, you have chosen to serve the idols of science. This was also foreseen:

This is very similar to choosing the homosexual lifestyle over God's commandments. You chose to believe that they are nonsense. You chose! This means that your assertion that the Bible is "nonsense" is a belief! It is not based on evidence and you admit it. This is very different from the Bible, for which there is plenty of evidence:

1. Eyewitness testimony. There are the statements of those who actually lived and witnessed the events during Biblical times. Furthermore, lots of archaeological evidence supports the Bible. For instance, there are descriptions of cities that have been confirmed with archaeology. See also Genesis 10:11.
2. The testimony of True Christians™, us. Our lives have been changed and these wonderful, awesome changes are consistent with the Bible! See also Luke 1:47.
3. The prophecies in the Bible HAVE BEEN FULFILLED!! Daniel Chapter 2 predicted the Roman empire and much more. For reference, see Daniel 2:34.
4. There is a unique and miraculously consistent nature of manuscripts of the Bible. See also Psalms 12:6.
5. There is a prerequisite of God for logic and science. In science, the satanic concept of evolution and "cosmology" embraced by atheists and false Christians gives absolutely no possibility of a mind that could be trusted at all. See also Ruth 2:12.

You have free will. You have chosen to believe something not based on evidence.

It is entirely up to each indevidual what they choose to think. I chose to think that the bible is not true because there is not evidence to support it.

It is also known that the British education system is better than that of the USA. In my opinion, one of the reasons is that we don't have to say pledges or messages to imaginary friends everyday. We can choose to, but don't have to. Schools in the US automatically assume kids are christian and sometimes punishing atheist kids for 'damaging thoughts'. This total disregard for reason and science will severely hinder the younger generation of the USA.

It is crystal clear that you are here to tempt us, to try to lure us from God's Grace into damnation and Eternal Oblivion. Jesus had similar experiences during the days of His Incarnation:
