I can't believe fairly young people spend a fair amount of their time here responding to heretics as they find them, and basically saying the same stuff over and over again as the arguments they get are, obviously, always quite the same.

But the level of irony and sarcasm here is far too high for everyone to be serious!

As far as we saying the same thing over and over again; isn't that what Darwinist do when you demand proof for the six day creation, they respond there is none, over and over again? If Darwinist are willing to lie about the creation of the world then why note the shape of the Earth? The fact is The Bible makes it clear the earth is flat, a disk as Isaiah describes it and as Christians we are open minded enough to accept The Lord has superior information on the topic. Or do you want to say God is lying to us?

So unless you have some Bible facts to refute your round earth theory I suggest you repent friend.

And may I say God did not write the Bible. Think of this way, what would have men said in the early times of Humanity if there was a book going around saying the earth was round? They'd call it insanity and stick to paganism.

Well of course we're real, and what do you consider "fairly young"? Brother COM is over 70 and a couple of our younger members are 16 (here with their fathers permission). Everyone else is somewhere in between.

As for ending up with a hundred page discussion, go through it. You'll see that it's the unsaved trash saying the same things over and over again. I'm sure if we deleted all of the duplicate information we would be down to about 14 pages. But then the unsaved trash would whine and cry that we deleted their posts because we are hiding the truth. It seems that most of the youth today are severely handicapped when it comes to reading comprehension.

Again, are you looking at who is typing what? If this is a false site, how exactly did you become a member? Wouldn't we make our site closed to the public?

I will admit to getting sarcastic at times, but that's because I get tired of coming onto this board because I want to learn from the great Godly minds that post here, and have to wade through garbage post after garbage post in order to find the tidbits of wisdom that exist. On the other hand though, if this board wasn't open to the public, I would have never found it.

If I thought you were referring to me in your above comment about the "fairly young", I would feel quite flattered.

We spend time replying to the heathens that join Landover, perhaps in your mind repetitiously, for several reasons.

Apart from the fact that it is common courtesy to answer a question when someone asks you, we assume on them joining, it is for them to realize the Truth of God.

His Truth is worth sharing with as MANY people as we possibly can. It is important for we True Christians to outreach, even to the most dire sinner in the hope we can help them see the light. That is what God wants us to do.

This could help explain:

The reason we perhaps sound like broken records to you, is that God's word NEVER changes, just as God never changes. A lot has to be said about His consistency Mr McGrath, and as such, His Word is well worth repeating.

I am failing to understand why you are finding fault in our convictions.

Remember, it is these people coming to a CHRISTIAN FORUM, many it seems with the objective to ridicule and mock us. Do you expect us to just take their unwarranted abuse lying down and adopt a "you're right, God's wrong" mentality?

It is not as though we are heading over to Non Christian sites in hoards attacking other people and their scientific beliefs, even though admittedly at times, I have considered it.

I realize that people will believe what they want, but I for one see LESS believability in ever changing scientific "findings" than in the SOLID TRUTH of the KJV1611.

On the thin sides there would be nothing. If you travel the world you will notice that the world is indeed round because of the distance you walk - the standing of the sun will change accordingly. The moon, sun and earth are all flat disks, like a 78LP. The do have sides, about 500 feet or so tall, shear rock faces. Sort of like a flatish soup bowl

I only read the first page because the rest seemed pretty droll and empty on both sides of the "Argument" I guess i'm responding to the last post on the first page that asked science to comment on that.

This is all keeping in mind the Duhem-Quine theorem that states "
it is impossible to conclusively disprove any scientific hypothesis."

"1) Jump!
Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move."
Science's explanation for this is pretty clear, When your standing on the bed of a truck traveling at 65mph your being push forward through space by the power of the motor. you feel the wind in your face because you are faster then the air around you and you feel it passing you by. Now when you jump you are no longer touching the source of your momentum (moving forward) and the wind in your slowly starts to die down and you fall back to the surface and come into contact with the reletivly stationary ground. Now at this painful moment a bunch of things happen, you now are traveling much faster then the earth is moving, not as fast as the truck but still pretty fast. so when you hit the ground your momentum will bounce you around quite a bit and force your body to do somethings but eventually you will stop (friction). Now that's the truck because it's going the speed of the earth +65mph. The earth as science says is moving at a constant speed. Everything on the earth from the lagest mountain to the smallest speck of dust is moving at the exact same speed. so when you jump up there is nothing to counteract your movement thus you keep moving forward and land in the exact same place.

Experiment, Sit in a car while it's moving, now toss up a coin or something of the sort. Since the car and everything in it is going the same speed there will be nothing to slow or accelerate the coin or object and it will land in the exact same spot.

2) Blow!
Since if the Earth is supposedly a sphere, it naturally comes to assume what would happen to people below the equator, like in Australia? Since they are underneath the sphere, wouldn't they fall off? This is where scientists come up with mumbo-jumbo like "gravity" and "centrifugal force" to explain away their theories. So, the scientists want you to think that because the earth is so much more massive than people or things, that people will naturally "stick" to the bottom of the earth because of gravity.

This can be disproved very simply. Get a balloon and inflate it as big as possible. It will be a spherical shape. Now, take a piece of paper and try to rip, tear, or cut the tiniest speck of paper possible. This paper represents a human being, much smaller in mass to the balloon, which represents the Earth. Now try and place the small piece of paper to the underside of the balloon. What happens? It falls off!

That's right. Even though the balloon is so much bigger in mass, it cannot hold the tiny paper. So if the Earth was a sphere, no one could live below the equator because they would fall off.


Science has a bunch of things to say about this, yes I could just state the Newtons law states that matter attracts matter and the more matter you have the more matter you attract. But that's just as hard for you to grasp as it is for an atheist to grasp that God just put everything into existence. So the best way to explain this is to first ask if you are Acknowledging space as a real thing? If you do then this is a lot easier, to explain just maybe harder to grasp. See our perception of up and down is relative to the place that we are in. Such as sitting in this chair the ground is down and the roof is up. But If you in a subway Up for you is the roof but it's also the Down for the people on the side walk. It's the same in space except there is no up and down. God created space and it's just as amazing as his glory, it's infinite. So from our perspective yes the people below the equator are standing on the bottom. But from their perspective they are on top.

If you don't believe in space to be vast an infinite or you don't believe that perspective be relevant to position then reply back with how you see the world.

3) Get High!
Ok, this one you really can't do at home, but you can do it out in the world. Stand on the ground and look around you. What's the farthest you can see? Maybe it's a building, tree, or mountain. Now, find some place very close to it where you can get a much higher vantage point. (This also works if you're on a jet and about to take off.) Notice how in the higher place you can see much farther? You can see more of the world the higher you get. This shows the world is flat because the higher you go, the easier it is to see over obstacles. At the same time, it shows the world cannot be spherical. Because if the world was curved, the far distance would forever remain out of view because of the Earth's curvature. It would eternally be over the horizon.

If the Earth was a sphere, it would not matter how high you went, you would still see the same thing. Since this is not the case, the Earth is flat.



This actually kind of defeats it's self I'll reference :
(2) If you climb higher, you can see further. On top of a mountain or lighthouse, or in an airplane, you can see things that are invisible -- below the horizon -- when you are on the ground. For example, if you watch the Sun set, and at the very moment when the Sun is just below the horizon you climb quickly up a hundred feet, you will see the Sun again. It is hard to explain why you can see further when you climb higher unless the Earth's surface curves downward away from you wherever you stand."


That just says if the earth was flat then the higher you go would make no difference in what
you could see. It would always be the same. So by saying the higher you go the more
you see is really just saying the Earth is round.



Now, I have a few questions to ask and see if maybe you could point me in the direction of
and experiment that could prove your theory further.

1) If you were to put a stick in the ground sticking straight up at noon in New York City, then telephone a friend in Chicago to ask him to also put a stick in the ground sticking straight up, he would see a shadow, and you would not. This is hard to explain unless ``straight up'' (away from the Earth's surface) points in different directions when you are at different places on the Earth's surface. That is, the Earth is not flat.
2) The Earth casts a shadow on the Moon during a lunar eclipse. The shadow is round.
3. If you travel north or south a signigicant distance, you will see a different set of stars at night. This will not happen on a flat surface.

Hopefully someone will actually read this a reply with something from a
creationist stand point. And remember, God created everything, the Universe
Earth, the stars, you and me. And He steers his creation in the way He
see's fit.

Why is it that your spherical earthers always claim that if the earth was flat, then there are no such thing as timezones. Is this the only argument you can come up with.

As to you horizon comment. What can I say. Of course if you raise yourself up you will see more. The earth is not flat like a kitchen bench, it has mountains and valleys.

Also if the earth had a curve, then why do you not see it when looking at train tracks

Haha, I did just get done a bunch of it actually. Pretty interesting stuff. I liked the first guy to try this who got so taken aback by it he got caught up making silly conclusions that did little to further anyone's experience. Do you have anything to say on the matter?

The answer to why you don't see the Earth curve while looking at rail road tracks is based on the biological structure of the eye. But for the sake of aurgument i'll concede that because I don't know what you say about how the body works.

The experiment about the stick has nothing to do with time zones, (time zones were created by man in the 1800's to make scheduleing trains easier)
What it's saying is that the shadow will be different in 2 different area's of the earth. showing curvature.

What about the Sphere shadow over a lunar eclispe. Or the tides?

Are there references in the KJV?
