It doesn't matter what you're saying. I'm telling you that it can't be a metaphor and mean what it says at the same time because a metaphor means something other than what it says. Since you agree that it means what it says, you must agree that it is not a metaphor.

However, God would not only be a true genius; he'd be an all-knowing being. If he wants to target most people reading the bible, what makes you think he'd only target you? More importantly: how can you, being as limited in comparison to God as you are, know all of his intentions regarding this matter? Through the bible? That means you first and foremost need to interpret the bible in order to interpret God's intentions.

I want you to read the following scripture. Then tell me why you need to analyze it. Do you need to interpert it?

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.


I think not God says that Homersexurals should be killed. The Bible is chock full of wonderful examples just like those. No need to interpret them, God has made it very clear, as He always does.

How do you know God targeted anyone at all? Do you understand God that well? Are you comparing him to humans by thinking that would be the only logical thing (to target a specific audience)? By "interpret", I don't mean to judge what he's already written. I mean you need to know what he has actually written. Since a firm believer as yourself uses the bible to know the bible; I just want to point out the fallacy in that. Just like you cannot examine a hammer using only the hammer itself.

I simply want to help you to perhaps better understand your faith.

I have tons of other interpretations and metaphors to choose from, but I'll try to pick those which sound the least ludicrous (even though that means I'm judging what God might actually mean).
What does "lie" mean? Sexual intercourse? What counts as sexual intercourse according to the bible concerning this particular quote? How can we know for certain that what God means by "abomination" is in fact something not that horrible (of a crime) at all? Can you prove that God doesn't intend for us to find out about these things in order to see who's really devout and who's just blindly following the first thing they can think of (which requires and relies on personal experience)?
How many homosexuals have you killed? I bet you have had the opportunity once or twice, is God's word not that important?

Back on track now.

Nowhere here does it say how or by whom they should get killed.

* It can mean that God will eventually punish them himself.
* It could mean that you as devote followers must dish out punishment as quickly as possible.
* It can also mean that they'll die by natural causes, without God or any other human directly intervening.
