When I meet a stupid atheist (is there any other kind?), I am often challenged to prove that God exists. So I point to my KJV1611 Holy Bible and declare victory.
To this the stupid atheist will say that the Hold Bible is not proof of God because the book references only itself as proof, and this is circular reasoning.
They will ask, "how do you know that the Bible is the Word of God?"
I will of course reply that "it says so in the Bible"
The atheist will say that this is circular reasoning.
I don't understand this argument at all! Surely all books are circular in this regard.
Scientific books reference themselves and their authors all the time.
The KJV1611 is the Holy Word of God, it says so in the Book -you can't tell me that's a circular argument as it applies to ALL authors of ALL books.
Just my thoughts.
PS - if I posted this in the wrong section, please forgive my infraction and feel free to move it somewhere more appropriate.

Newton wrote "Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica" - We know this because it says so on the cover.
Einstein wrote "Relativity: The Special and General Theory" - We know this because it says so on the cover.
Hawking wrote "A Brief History of Time" - We know this because it says so on the cover.
Dawkins wrote "The God Delusion" - We know this because it says so on the cover.
I would like to make it clear that I have not read the above referenced books (apart from the KJV1611 of course) as I do not find it necessary to do so. But how can I challenge the truth of who wrote the book, just because it tells me in the book who wrote it?Hawking wrote "A Brief History of Time" - We know this because it says so on the cover.
