I was tawkin' ta' this lady an' I askeded her why alla houses heow are on stilts, an' she said its on accounta permanant frosties ona ground.

Sos I askeded her why theres lakes and ponds all over, an' she says it's also on accounta thuh Frosty freeze ina ground.

Why did the Frosty-Free all over thuh ground?

Did old Uncow Nate finally freeze his home over?

Sometimes God moves the sun away so that it gets cold.

People put their houses on stilts to get nearer ther sky and keep warm — but it doesn't work.

How winter comes?

Our earth is approximately 93 million miles from the sun. Its orbit is almost circular but slightly elliptical. The earth orbits the Sun at an angle or tilt of 23.5 degrees.
This angle causes some parts of the earth to be farther from the sun and some nearer to the sun than others.
Winter arrives when that part of the earth is tilted away from the sun and the sunlight is forced to enter the atmosphere at an angle. In short, light has to traverse more atmosphere before reaching the surface. In this way it is scattered and is less intense than it is during summer.

It rotates and orbits around the sun that is why the sun looks like it "rises" in the east and "sets" in the west. When winter comes that means the hemisphere that you live on. You live in the northern hemisphere if your in Canada. And when our hemisphere is farthest from the sun because of the tilt we get winter. And if you travel to south america when it is winter in Canada it will be summer there. That is because the southern hemisphere it tilted towards the sun.

I have a pond near my house. If the Earth were tilted, the water would be higher on one side than on the other, but it isn't. The water is level all the way across. How do you "tilted Earth theorists" account for that?
