All it takes is a dime. When Mars is in the sky just hold the dime between your eye and Mars. You can then see with your own eyes how small Mars really is.

I've read about all of this Tommy's posts I can stomach and I'm left with a simple question. What does he actually think he is achieving by trying to ram his unfounded beliefs down the throats of those who are armoured with the Holy Spirit?

I don't know about any Mars missions. They might as well say they're going to Centauri in 100 years. If funded, I'm sure I could make a great big rocket looking like it might reach whatever distance you liked. It would be easy to imagine them all sitting around, start up the rocket with a mighty roar, up and up it goes a tornado of flame but the higher it gets the smaller it appears until you can't see it at all. Then they just switch it off.

When I see the moon I can look at it with a telescope. It looks bigger. It's still the same moon if I look at an ant with a magnifying glass it's still the same ant (but looks bigger) it's still the same size. I could look at Mars. It is not even slightly surprising that it looks bigger, but it is really still the same size. The firmament has not been breached. So no rockets have pierced it, as would be necassary for the Mars shot or the moon shot or any jaunts to Centauri as described.

I'm still here to prove the existence of the moon landings, curiosity, International Space Station etc. It's my choice to do so, however, because I know you will always dismiss the evidence I give you, I might just leave it, making you be blinded by your religion for the rest of your life.
