An interesting study I saw once on PBS.

They were actually doing a study on sexuality and/or gender. They used rats for this experiment. In this case, rats are the perfect animal to study; when rats are born, they are developmentally the equivalent of a human baby in the last trimester.

Anyway, here's what the study did: they took the male rats and injected them with extra estrogen right after birth. Would you guess what happened?

Well, pretty much, they got transsexual lab rats. Their bodies were male but they acted just like females. I've always believed that prenatal hormone levels have a huge impact on sexuality and this proves it.

Did any of you ask God why he put extra estrogen into me when I was in the third trimester? If he wanted me to be a big, manly man, this would seem counter productive.

So they took a poor baby rat and added a bunch of whoremoans to it and are shocked the messed up thing is confused about what it is? What are they going to do next? Sew tiny boobs on the things so they have to wear bras? Then they can say they created transvestites in the lab. Oh wow, what an accomplishment! Maybe these scientist freak pervs wouldn't have to try to change baby rats into part female abominations if they could just figure out how to get a human girl to look at them (with something other than contemptuous disdain or outright horror, that is).

Anyway, even before I saw this study, I believed that hormone levels had a huge impact on sexuality.

If you ask me, homosexuality is probably related in there. I wouldn't be surprised if homosexuals had a hormonal imbalance while they were in utero.

I do know that the rate of homosexual identical twins is much higher than the standard population. With general population, the rate of homosexuality is usually from 10%-25% but with identical twins it goes up to 50%.

Isn't it funny how homophobia looks so silly when you use a little science?

If there were a way to go back in time and alter the chemical makeup that made me trans, would I do it? In a heartbeat!

Another girl in my TG support group said that if she had an option of two pills in front of her and one made her body all the way female and the other made her mind all the way male, she would have taken either one of them. I'm the same way. Sadly, that isn't an option.

I do kinda worry what will happen in the future when scientists find ways to detect and prevent hormonal imbalances that cause transsexuality and homosexuality. If parents can choose the sexual orientation or gender of their child, who would want a homosexual or transsexual child? No, way too many problems like that. Just make my kids normal, heterosexuals. Yeah, even I would want that for my kids, so that's saying something.

No, not generally equivalent. However, the last trimester of gestation for humans is the point where all the vital organs have already been created and all we do is grow. That is the same point, developmentally that the rats are like at birth.

If it were humane and legal, I'd bet that you could do the same thing with a human baby. Inject a male baby with estrogen at the beginning of the last trimester and you would probably wind up with a transgendered child. Still, it would be cruel to do that to a person.
