What happened to love the sinner, hate the sin?

I always though that God told us to love thy neighbor, and yet we're spreading messages of hate towards other people who we say aren't Christian? The Bible says that God loves all men, and this quote from Romans seems to work here. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

Jesus told us to love our fellow man, no matter who he may be. And there is this whole "holier than thou" attitude here, but we've all sinned, and are all sinners, and fall short of the glory of god. There is nobody here who isn't a sinner. Isn't that why Jesus came here, to save us? We seem to be doing more harm to people than we are helping.

I'll get banned here for sure, but I wanted to say what was on my mind.

Re: What happened to love the sinner, hate the sin?

Someone is confused on the definition of what a neighbor is.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

      Friend,

Were do we say we hate this horrible scum sucking sinners? No friend, we love these wretched pieces of two legged trash and want to help their worthless souls become SAVED just like we are. Yes, sinners deserve to be herded into extermination camps, worked to death and then their souls tortured for all eternity but Christ's victory over death has given them gift of redemption. They only have to reach and take it!

How is that wrong friend? Tell me.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Friend, I sort of understand what you are saying but you are not clear. You are saying two thoughts. Re-state just a single one, in greater depth. back up all statements with scripture and verse.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: What happened to love the sinner, hate the sin?

            God doesn't love everybody:

            Proverbs 6
[16] These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

And don't give me any "He hates the sin, not the sinner" crap...

            Matthew 13
            [38] The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
[39] The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
[40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
            [41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
[42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
            Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

More Bible verses show that not only does God NOT love everyone, he hates people too. He hates the sinner AND the sin!

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the
LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
              Psalm 5:5-6

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence
              His soul hateth.
              Psalm 11:5

I see that I have gotten an infraction here. Meh, I saw that coming.

I thought it was common knowledge that God's love is unconditional?

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved (Ephesians 2:4-5).

You are twisting the Bible and quoting it out of context, like all false Christians do. Consider the context: Paul was writing to his fellow Christians. God does have great love for us -- for us Christians, that is. Nowhere does Paul write that God loves everybody, even those who are unsaved.

And you've just stated a paradox right there.

A very famous bible verse also comes to mind, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I think we all know that one.

Jesus DID NOT die for everyone

He died for those that BELIEVE.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, but have everlasting life.

Everyone doesn't believe in Jesus, thus they will perish.

                              Another false Christian failure.
                              Who Will Jesus Damn?
