There is no difference between a babbling (or any other variety of) harlot and a person who does not worship God in the precise manner He has specified. "Why precise?" you may ask. Because the specifications are so detailed and particular. Although there may be some room for minor aspects to be decided on a case-by-case basis—what colour to paint the Senior Pastor's swimming pool for example—they are hardly significant enough to qualify as imprecision in worship are they.
From Moses to Paul via Joshua, Deborah, Jephthah, Ruth, Samuel, David, Solomon, Asa, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke (I won't list all of them but generally speaking they've each communicated at least one book from God).
The core of all this detailed instruction is the 613 Commandments (there is a single exemption regarding meat in The New Testament). Other details follow on from that, revealed over a couple of millennia and without exception those who neglect any detail are described as HARLOTS. There are both positive and negative examples provided. Descriptions of righteous persons who follow those Commandments [Moses] [Lot] [Jephthah] and descriptions of scum, which includes whole cities and even nations, who do not follow those Commandments or who add on extra bits such as variations of how to ignite incense correctly.

It is sometimes claimed that the requirement for vicarious sacrifice has lapsed but that is not what The Bible teaches. The requirement stands and Jesus is the sacrifice.

And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah. And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours, Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses. And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
