I don't study Quran, I study languages and culture.
Why bother studying it? Because I want to learn. It's as simple as that.

I major in languages, culture is just a part of it, I want to learn things I find interesting. And I am absolutely fascinated by their culture and languages. As well as Hindi culture and languages, but unfortunately I don't have where to learn it here and hopefully I'll have a chance to go there to study it first hand.

And no disrespect, but THIS is exactly why no one around those parts would ever understand anything about Islam.

My father was the best man in the world. He died, and it's offending me when people are using him in an argument without knowing the facts.

You have a real problem with gross generalizations. Your father isn't even as good as George W. Bush, much less Jesus, so how can he be the best man in the world, especially now that he's dead?
