Re: A Christian alternative to "Dungeons and Dragons"?
Instead of ungodly dice or spinners, why not use divine inspiration? Let God speak to players about how many spaces they should move. Glory!

Not to be nit-picky, but Dungeons and Dragons isn't a "board game" its a "table top" game, which uses mats, dice, markers, and erasers...

Surely we could not use a spinner either, as you said, it will lead others to play Roulette, another bad game. The depravity of that game is just immeasurable! I'm not stretching the truth when I say I once lost a whole Porsche 911 Turbo on a single spin.

Gambling addiction is a horrible sin and is underreported in the media. During my heyday as a televangelist for PTL, I went to Caesar's Palace in Vegas with the misguided intention of taking my faithful flock's tithe money and doubling it at the craps tables. Needless to say, I was wiped clean. That and I had some money I owed to the Mafia just compounded the problem even worse.
Anyways, instead of using Dice, how about each player gets asked a series of 10 random Biblical questions. The amount they get right determines their roll. So, if they answer 7/10 it would be equal to rolling a 7, without these Christians being led astray into the seedy underworld of gambling addiction.

Excellent idea! I volunteer to help. Perhaps "Guardian angel" for a title?

Re: A Christian alternative to "Dungeons and Dragons"?
My only real concern is who would officiate over the game? I know that in "Dungeons and Dragons" there is a person obscenely called the 'dungeon master.' But how could we have an officiator over the game without committing blasphemy? We can't call the moderator GOD, because only GOD is GOD.
Maybe he could be called the 'Senior Pastor'?

Re: A Christian alternative to "Dungeons and Dragons"?
Praise sweet Jesus for this divinely inspired idea, Brother Bob! I would be more than happy to develop this idea with you. If we implement it properly, it could make us filthy rich....
Uh, I mean filthy rich in the Kingdom of God after we die.
Here are some ideas...
We could have various attributes, such as Biblical Knowledge, Witnessing, Temptation Resistance, etc. You design your character around what kind of role-playing Christian you will be. Will you be a strong, silent, knowledgeable type that prays to God everyday? Or will you be a social, evangelizing preacher? Will you play a faithful and devoted housewife who listens to her husband, or will you play the loving and protective husband who has discipline her sometimes for her own good?
The possibilities are endless! Let's start brainstorming people! Brother Bob has got amillion-dollar-idea, million-soul-saving-idea on his hand!

A Christian alternative to "Dungeons and Dragons"?
As a True Christian, I expect to be provided a wholesome alternative to everything that offends me so I can still enjoy it without offending CHRIST.
I have my own Christian movie collection (I just bought another copy of "Fireproof" as Mrs. Fore wore out the previous one!), I have my Christian music collection, and my Christian book collection. I also have a Christian board game collection that includes such titles as "Bibleopoly" and "Journey to Canaan." (Such fun!)
I was reading my Chick tracts the other day when I found an old copy of the one dear Mr. Chick wrote about the role-playing board game "Dungeons and Dragons." I became even more outraged than usual when I realized that we have no Christian alternative to this hellish game!
If the devil can use "Dungeons and Dragons" to lure people into the occult, couldn't GOD use "Saviors and Sinners" to lure people into glory?
In "Saviors and Sinners" you could create your own evangelist character that moves around the board saving as many souls as he can. He could have special skills like Hellfire Sermonizing to reach especially vile sinners, throwing skills to stone unrepentent homosexuals, and detect mix fabrics, to tell if anybody nearby is wearing mixed fabrics. (Deut. 22:11)
I think this kind of game would really appeal to the kids and get them excited for CHRIST! Who can we boycott/petition to get this game made?
