The Focus on the Family Tim Tebow Super Bowl Ad
Like millions of patriotic Americans, I did my duty and watched the Super Bowl last night. It was truly a disappointing day all around, not just because a papist voodoo team beat a Godly midwestern team, but also because James Dobson did not take advantage of his $1.5 million airtime!
Here was a chance to put a good, True Christian(tm) message to the world's largest captive audience and Dobson blew it like Manning throwing a pass to Saint's defensive back Tracy Porter!
I honestly did not know I was watching a supposedly Christian commercial until the last seconds when the website flashed on screen. There's no in-your-face honesty or even a clear message. I think they could've used the 30 seconds instead by railing against same-sex "marriage", abortion, and Miley Cyrus. Here is what I would've done...
[Fade in to several photographs of "Holocaust". Bodies buried in piles, skinny concentration camp Jews, etc.]
Voiceover: The holocaust. People claim that it killed upwards of ten million people. Ten million people.
[Then with each word pronounced, it zooms in closer each time to a picture of a Jew thrown in an oven]
Ten. [Zoom] Million. [Zoom] People. [Zoom]
Fade to black for 5 seconds.
Voiceover: Even though the Holocaust never happened, if it were actually real it still would not have killed more human beings than abortion has in a single year.
[Fade into graphic photos of aborted fetuses.]
Voiceover: Abortion kills 42 million innocent babies around the world each year. That's four holocausts in a single year. Would-be mothers make pacts with Satan and we later pay the price.
[Fade out. Fade into photos of Hurricane Katrina, 2004 Asian Tsunami, and Haiti Quake]
Voiceover: God will not be mocked. He will destroy those who dare oppose them.
[Zoom into bodies of dead, mangled children in advanced state of decay.]
Voiceover: Will you be one of them? Or will you join Christ and become a True Christian(tm) today?
[Fade to screen showing website.]
