  • Lord of the Rings... ok?

I know that Tolkien was a Christian but the story seems a bit like a D&D type thing, with wizards and orcs. Is it ok, or are there some problems to stay clear of?

Absolutely! It's as bad as Harry Potter. There is divination and witchcraft. If you don't know what the Bible says about those, I will be glad to post supporting scriptures.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Actually, he was a Romanist, which is not at all the same thing.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

They don't praise Jesus in the LOTR, so I think you pretty much answered your own question.

Re: Lord of the Rings... ok?

Why The Lord of the Rings is wrong.

Paganism: Nature worship is rampart in the books. See the Trents who attack Isengard for industrializing, Lotherien and the Shire are presented as tree hugging utopias. Isengard, Mordor and Moria are clearly over the top warning of the "failure" not to worship nature and industrialize like Jesus wants. Talking animals like the eagles attempt to present animals as something more for humans to use for their needs for food, clothing and lust.

Goddess Worship: Not surprising for a Catholic like Tolkien. See Galadriel. It was very clear the Tolkien wanted to stop the book were Frodo offers the Ring to Galadriel and she goes on to world dominating femnazi regime were are males are castrated and the executed but Tolkien's friends like the godly C S Lewis, who knew a thing or two about women, urged him to write on. Also goddess worship is done allegorically with Mount Doom in Mordor and Shelob.

Homosexuality: Numerous homosexual relationships in the story; top and bottom with Frodo and Samwise, bear and effeminate with Gimily and Legolas, the whole capture of Pippen and Merry by the Isengard orcs is a classic homosexual BDSM scenario that Tolkien was forced to heavily edit by his publisher. Finally there was the disgusting three way mud wrestling between Frodo, Samwise and Golemn at the base of the allegorical mother goddess Mount Doom. If two words sum up the homosexual content of Lord of The Rings they are; "hobbit hole".

Anti-Capitalism: The negative presentation of industrialized and free marker embracing Mordor, the orcs, Sauron and Isengard. Inversely the non-capitalistic shire, Lotherian and Rivendale (all are self sufficient and green technology) are shown positivity instead of the socialist hell holes they are. The decline of Gondor is explained as caused by the acceptance of a military-industrial complex. The former point is laughable since all Gondor need to do to defeat Sauron was to cut their oppressive tax rate, expand the Gondor military and crush Mordor in a two week campaign of sock and awe. The fall of Moria is also explained as caused by greed.

Anti-Christian: Jesus never mentioned once, or given thanks. Frodo goes off to paradise without dying like he is some kind of messianic figure. Eagles instead of angels rescue people. As to be expected from a Catholic The Lord of the Rings is a massive argument for the false pagan ideology of Salvation Threw Works. Frodo has to chose to make the journey to destroy the One Ring and not turn himself over to Jesus to save him. In fact the whole argument the world needs saving from evil instead of being punished and then destroyed is an inherently anti-Christian position.

and that is off the top of my head.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Re: Lord of the Rings... ok?

The Lord of the Rings is quite blatant gay propaganda. You only have to glance at the cover to know so. The "Fellowship of the Ring", The "Two Towers" Come on. It’s not even subtle.

Not to mention the homer love story of those two midgets. And that blatantly gay "elf". The book is an abomination from cover to cover, describing in vivid detail the exploits of two short men who fall in love and share the burden of the "ring". It's full of pagan references, wiccan rituals and majik.

That book should be burned on a pyre.
May the call of Jihad be forever outshined, outmatched, and outlasted by the The LORD's Crusade, to the end of eternity and the extinction of mortal flesh. Let those who march against it in His name be as giants - pure of heart, strong of body, honored, invulnerable. May those warriors be burning stars in the firmament of battle, angels of death on shining wings, bringing swift annihilation to the enemies of CHRIST. Amen.

We covered this subject years ago when those demonic movies first came out. I admit that I went to see "The Return of The King" thinking that it was about Jesus. It wasn't.

Even McDonald's played a hand in pushing the radical gay agenda encrypted throughout the trilogy.

I recall your very words after viewing Lord of the Rings was you hadn't seen so much implied gay sex since a Doris Day movie. Your' detailed account of the depravity of the Wizard fight in the first movie, our as you put it Pastor the "tallywacker fencing session" is a classic of True Christian teaching on Hollywood.

All i can say is, the main hobbit character is gay, but his hobbit friend is not since he is the only character in the movie who got married with a woman. I never saw one female Dwarf in the movie so its accurate to say that dwarf are gay.
Leviticus 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

How many female character were there in the story; two elf women. And remember elves = gay guys. All the characters in Lord of the Rings were gay.

Oh wow... you guys really know nothing about anything out side your little bible bubble huh? Tolkien lived in England witch unlike ever other country didnt have any mythology. So he made it up himself, trading his ideas with C.S Lewis. Who might I add had very strong woman in his book too.
