It is good to see that in a liberal state like Mississippi they are fighting back to reclaim the Civil Right's movement from when it was hijacked by elitists in the 60's. However these REAL Americans need to manage their message so some unelected activist judge might twist the Constitution to block the good work here.

Instead of calling for a white only class president, require the class president to be a REAL American citizen under the correct interpretation of the 14th amendment and disallow any anchor babies.

Oh, whine whine whine, why would it be okay in fact encouraged if the school had said only black students could run. Oh that would be progressive in a liebrals mind.

There was a case a few years back (sorry, can't find the link it's buried under all the affirmation stuff) where students voted a white South African immigrant as "African American student of the year". Well considering this boy was probably the only African-American in the school.

I see that a white teenager who moved from South Africa to America six years ago was suspended from school after nominating himself for a "Distinguished African-American Student of the Year" prize. Trevor Richards, 16, was accused of "showing disrespect" to black pupils at Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska. It is thought he is the only pupil to have lived in Africa.

He and two friends put up campaign posters showing him making a thumbs-up sign and all three were suspended.

"The posters were intended to be satire on the term 'African-American'," said one of his campaign managers, Scott Rambo. The phrase is the current politically correct label for black Americans. But the satire misfired, not least because it was aired on Martin Luther King Day, a holiday marking the black preacher's role in the civil rights struggle.

"It's disruptive," said the headmaster, John Crook. "It was offensive to the individual being honored and to some students."

Never quite understood all these badges of identification. How is someone an Irish-American if a) they have never been to Ireland and b) their anvestors left Ireland 150 years ago?

These boys were punished, yet that boy was more African-American than anyone whose last ancestor stepped on that continent 300 years ago.

Tragically, the school has knuckled under to the lieberal gestapo and retracted its policy.

UPDATE: As was probably expected, the district has posted a new statement saying the policy will be discontinued: "[B]eginning immediately, student elections at Nettleton School District will no longer have a classification of ethnicity. [...] Future student elections will be monitored to help ensure that this change in process and procedure does not adversely affect minority representation in student elections."

Is this the schools idea of continuing education? Now the students will learn all about the carpetbaggers and the oppression of early southern economy? Will they have to send 50% of their milk money to a school in Detroit?
