what do you think about people with something like a terminal illness (im going to use Terminal Cancer as an example)

do you think that theyve done something to deserve it or theyre just very unlucky?

do you think that god has punished them? and sends them to hell for a reason?

a long illness with excruciating pain can give ample opportunity for sincere repentance and accepting Jesus*. Depending upon what you do you can ascend to Heaven or take the down elevator.

We can look at Job, he was inflicted with horrible diseases, yet he lived. That is God's Will as well.

*(in most but not all cases, terms and conditions apply - many seek forgiveness, not all are forgiven. Repentance must be sincere, false repentance is invalid. God reserves the right to admit souls to Paradise. There is no appeal, God's Word is final.)

God is punishing her by having you hang around. You must bring shame to her and to your whole family. A shame that spreads across the land like a cloud of darkness and damp.

God has only one reason for sending people to Hell:

Failure to beg Jesus to love them and forgive their sins, combined with failure to stop sinning entirely and forever.

Once Saved(c), a True Christian(tm) is incapable of sin. That's how you know someone is truly Saved(c)!

Since God knows all and is all-powerful, He knows who has cancer and who doesn't. He can make it go away if He wants. Therefore, He wants your mother to have cancer. What did she do to piss Him off?

The good Lord is just hiding the cancer from you, He is waiting for the right time to bring it back and wipe her out. In order to bring you to Him of course, He likes to use reverse psychology.
