A question for my Christian friends

Is there any place in any of the Christian Bibles that tells us that the Word of God is to be taken metaphorically or is open to our interpretation?
As an example in Matthew 19:24 when Jesus says "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God". Is there any other way to interpret that? I use this example because the Cath-o-lics seem to believe this means something else.

Thanks for any information you might be able to provide.

Re: A question for my Christian friends

There is only one True Bible, and that is the KJV1611 Authorized Version. Please see my sermon on the subject HERE to find out why.

As to the meat of your question, I don't think you would ever really understand the answer, because you are a wad of unsaved scum and as such have no discernment.

John 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
Accept Jesus as your Personal Savior before asking questions like this. You're putting the cart before the horse.
    Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

      Dear friend:

The Bible is not to be taken metaphorically and is not open to interpretation. Thank you.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Interesting reads, thank you. They do raise another question though, please forgive me as I'm sure this has been brought up ad nauseum. I'm sure anyone well read in the old testament would come to realize that Jesus did not fulfill the masonic prophecies. I don't see how the Christians can claim that Jesus is the massiah. If taken literally, he could not be.

I take it that you mean "Messianic" rather than "masonic." Of course Our Lord was not a lodge-attending, letter-G-worshiping Inexpensivemason. Please tell us which Messianic prophecy Our Lord didn't fulfull and how He didn't, so that we can address your concerns.

Indeed, my apologies. I'm riding in an extremely bumpy truck and it's making spelling and grammer difficult at best.

The whole world will worship the One God of Israel. (Isaiah 2:17)
The world does not worship onle god.

Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership. (Isaiah 11:4)
              Evil ant tyranny abound.

Death will be swallowed up forever. There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease. (Isaiah 25:8)
              This one speaks for itself.

All of the dead will rise again. (Isaiah 26:19)
              The dead have not risen.

The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness. (Isaiah 51:11)
              Hardly.

Weapons of war will be destroyed. (Ezekiel 39:9)
              hasn't happened yet.

He will rebuild the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. (Micah 4:1)
              Again, has not hppened.

He will bring world peace. (Isaiah 2:4, Isaiah 11:6, Micah 4:3)
              Still waiting.

I'd like to thank you for your time and your civility. Your are a man of class I can tell.

Excellent post Zeke. I can't stand them wetbacks doing what they do. They aren't saved as far as I'm concerned.

To use the teachings of the great Pastor Peters,
                      Deuteronomy 4:2 says,
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Note that it says “word,” not “interpreted meaning.” Interpreting God’s Word to make it fit our preconceived notions means adding to, or diminishing from, the word that God has commanded us.
Doesn't the New Testament do just that?
