Badly Burned Child Returns Home, thanks God.

Dylan was badly burned in a bonfire accident last December. He caught fire in his yard before being rushed into his room. Still engulfed, the boy's bed also caught fire. Dylan was airlifted to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, where doctors were sure he'd die.

    ***

"We just put in it in God's hands," said Kellum. "He made this happen and we feel like God will open the door for us in the future."

Doctors in Nashville had to remove Dylan's small intestines before he was transported to Shriners. His family will monitor the young boy from Spring Hill, but his aunt said they are considering surgery to replace his intestines.

    ***

"I look back and I don't understand how we made it. I didn't know we were that strong," said Kellum. "We're a strong family. Dylan's a strong child, and I guess God was with us every step of the way. Dylan's a miracle."

I am so overcome with gratitude towards the Godlike attitude of this family that I am jumping with joy and tearing up simultaneously.

Basically this wonderful family left gasoline near a hot bonfire pit with a five year old running around. The child was fascinated by the pretty flames he watched the night before.

The boy then grabs the gas and tries to start his own fire, only he burns himself almost to death BUT God saved him

    It's a MIRACLE!

What a lucky little dude, he only lost some intestines and will likely be disfigured and in pain for the rest of his life but he's a strong kid from a strong Godlike family!

    It's a MIRACLE!

Our God is an awesome God.

The only hypocritical part of their story is the part where they went to doctors in the first place. Why not let God take care of it through prayer? But, we each have our own human frailties I guess.

Since God speaks to me often I have heard they went to the doctors out of shock. If they had time to think they would have waited for the miracle at home.

Hopefully that boy is being switched daily for recklessly setting his bed on fire like that.

Read the section where they had to remove what sounds like at the very least a major section of a vital organ. While faith healing may work, why not yet those blessed with the ability to heal help as well?

I'm glad the parents realize the horrific disfigurement and permanent disability of their child is God's handiwork.

"We just put in it in God's hands," said Kellum. "He made this happen and we feel like God will open the door for us in the future."
I wonder why God wanted their toddler to be tortured? Was he already on the path to damnation, and this a warning of what Hell is like? Or maybe God just wanted to teach the parents a lesson, about not putting burning children onto their beds?

Im totally with you.. not talking about anyone in specific but a lot of people on this site are crazy! They don't make sense about a lot of things. What are you going to let the kid burn and not do anything? God doesn't support laziness, you have to do your part and whats left is for God.

So, you're saying you rely on humans and not on God?

Obviously, these Godly people took the burning child into his bedroom instead of putting him out first. I have no doubt they were praying all the way that God would put out the fire for them, instead of running the boy under the shower.

Here's quite an old joke, but I hope the sentiment in it can still apply.

There once was a flood and everyone had reached safety except for one man.

He climbed to the top of his house with the water lapping at his feet.

A helicopter flew over his head and hung down a rope for him to climb, but the man was deeply religious and said, "It's alright! The Lord will save me!"

So the helicopter flew away. The water continued to rise and a boat came to him but, once again, the man shouted, "No! Go AWAY! the Lord will come and save me!" and, once again, the boat sped off.

The water was getting dangerously deep by now so the helicopter came back and, on cue, the man repeated, "I don't need saving! My Lord will come"

                      Reluctantly, the helicopter left.

The rain continued to pour, the water continued to rise and the man drowned.

At the gates of heaven, the man met St. Peter. Confused, he asked, "Peter, I have lived the life of a faithful man - why did my Lord not rescue me?"

St. Peter replied, "For pity sake! He sent you two helicopters and a boat!"

God may work in mysterious ways, but sometimes, exactly what he is providing is right in front of you. He provides us with the food on our table because he makes it so farmers are able to produce it, not because he performs a spectacular miracle each time somebody has a meal.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Doctors are able to treat ill people. Why should they not also be used, as well as faith? In the example, a man turned down legitimate opportunities for help, which turned out to be send by God, because he did not expect God to work in such mundane ways.

Or you could use both. Just because you allow doctors to help does not in any way make putting faith in God for help a bad thing. I've seen people survive what by all means should have killed them, and others die from apparently nothing.
