What Breed of Dog Would Jesus Own?

I am guessing it would be a all American all purpose American Pit Bull but there are many other good choices such as the German Police dog.

I pick the American Pit Bull because it is an all American dog but because Jesus was a shepherd I also think the German Shepard would also be a breed that our Lord and Savior would pick.

Well as you know I'm a fan of the Rottweilers, which were also used for herding, carting, and protection. In fact all of my boys have herding titles as well as protection/attack.

IMO most German Shepherds have been ruined. If you want a decent GSD you will have to definitely go with working lines.

As for Pitbulls, sure they're all American dogs. In fact they were actually the dog mascot of the US during WWII. But there is a huge list of American breeds to choose from...

Pitbulls don't have locking jaws. This is still a surprisingly common myth but the fact is that no dog has any kind of locking mechanisms in their jaws. Only differences in dog bones come in the form of shape and size, a locking jaw would require a completely differend bone structure. Pitbulls are just hard biters for their size and most of all very determined (this trait is often referred to as "gameness" ) as their ancestors relied in their ability to bite and hold on. The history of the pitbulls begins in England, where bulldogs used to fight bulls. Once the dogs got a hold of the bull, they'd better hold on tight for their own good. Later on these bulldogs were mixed with terriers to get a dog with bulldog determination and terrier type of spark. These are the dogs that later on travelled to USA with immigrants and got the name American Pit Bull Terrier.

Wonderful dogs. These breeds labeled as fighting dogs actually teach us a lesson about God as they have hearts of gold but getting one angry is a horrible mistake.

A pit bull may not have an actually locking jaw like his cousin the bull dog but it is fir all intents and purposes a locking jaw.


When you add the Godly zeal of a terrier with the faithful determination of a bulldog you get a pit bull. A pit bull is like a John the Baptist of dogs.

I know that dogs don't go to heaven when they die but instead are sent to Hell to feed all the Chinese who were not fortunate enough to know about Jesus but if God were to make an exception to the no dog rule I believe he would allow pit bulls.

A pit bull may not have an actually locking jaw like his cousin the bull dog but it is fir all intents and purposes a locking jaw.

God gave these dogs a lot of determination. Magnificent animals, but no dog has locking jaws. This ii just a plain fact, no dog has locking jaws. But they don' t need that, God gave them determination and will to hold on for dear life what ever happens.

Another good dog is a Gordon Setter. Like Jesus a Gordon Setter and unlike its English and Irish cousins a Gordon setter won't put up with any unGodly behavior from people. We had one we used like a junkyard dog to guard the compound. He was behind a chain link fence when a Nigra got into the perimeter and stepped in one of my bear traps. Nigras don't run so fast when they are in a bear trap. I digress. When he got home Mengle had nearly chewed his way through that chain link fence and had broken most of his teeth in the process.

I hated to have to kill such a righteous pooch but what good was he with broken teeth? I had the kids say good bye to Mengle as I pumped 2 rounds of 12 gauge double ought buck shot into him.

After I killed Mengle I had the girls and the wife spray down that Nigra with some BearGuard pepper spray and I tased him with the Ear Melter until Officer Don Richards and his squad subdued him with their batons and cuffed him.
