There is a little City about an hour northwest of Freehold that sponcers a really big 4th of July, Independence Day, celebration each year. That is Gowrie (Iowa). About 1000 people live there but about 10,000 come each year for the celebration. The New York Times did a story about it several years ago.
I like to go up there, shake a few hands, and let folks know that the City of Freehold is their friend and Landover Baptist is available should anyone be seaching for a church.
Now, there is a new wrinkle and I need advice. They have introduced gambling in the form of Cow-Pie Bingo. It is, of course, a game where one bets that the cow will deposit its special gift in your particular square designated on the grassy field.
I'm wondering if putting a few dollars on this game would fall under the prohibitions of KJV 1611? Now, some may think it a little strange that I'm worried about such a question, "Look, it's just a little thing, why take it so seriously?"
But, I believe life is a slippery slope and a person needs to be cautious about all things related to the Word of God. If someone has a clear answer it would be most appreciated.
