  • Taco Bell, the beef on Beef

Now that the founder, Glen W. Bell Jr., is mercifully dead, It is time to reassess. Not that I would eat the stuff myself, nor let any of my family touch it (except perhaps twice or three times a week for the servants, who seem to like that sort of thing) but there seems to be some unChristian faith here.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — An Alabama law firm claims in a lawsuit that Taco Bell is using false advertising when it refers to using "seasoned ground beef" or "seasoned beef" in its products.

The meat mixture sold by Taco Bell restaurants contains binders and extenders and does not meet the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labeled as "beef," according to the legal complaint.

The class-action lawsuit was filed Friday in federal court in the Central District of California by the Montgomery law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles.

Attorney Dee Miles said attorneys had Taco Bell's "meat mixture" tested and found it contained less that 35 percent beef.

Miles said the lawsuit does not seek monetary damages, but asks the court to order Taco Bell to be honest in its advertising.

"We are asking that they stop saying that they are selling beef," Miles said.
Story: Nutrition info coming to fronts of food packages

Irvine, Calif.-based Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch (PAYCH) said the company denies that its advertising is misleading.

"Taco Bell prides itself on serving high quality Mexican inspired food with great value. We're happy that the millions of customers we serve every week agree," Poetsch said. He said the company would "vigorously defend the suit."

The lawsuit says that Taco Bell's "seasoned beef" contains other ingredients, including water, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti-dusting agent and modified corn starch.
When you buy a meal that uses the word "Beef" in the title, do you expect there to actually be beef in it? I see no reason why there should be - there are no nigras in nigra brown wool, no people from Hamburg in hamburgers and no Mexicans in Mexican Sauce, so what were you expecting?

The other thing is that we know that there are fats, proteins, carbohydrates, etc., in food and that is all that matters - their packaging is irrelevant.

"Oh," I hear you say, "Bathfire is upset that his Taco Bell stocks might fall further."

Well, that attitude makes me sick! It is the blatant disregard for God's Word that annoys me more than anything else. God told us that if He made it out of meat, then you can eat it:

Acts 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Jesus tells us the exact same but in different words:
Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

So I would advise you to send out your women-folk, children and servants to the nearest Taco Bell and have them eat a few of the beefiest meals they can find in an expression of solidarity with The One True God.

Taco Bell tacos have beef in them?

I've only ever had one 1. I was sure it was some sort of flavorless tofu paste scraped on the bottom of their imitation taco shell. 35% of it came from actual cows?

If it's anything like Meat sold in "chubs" where you can't see inside - or "100% Beef" frozen Burgers, and then it looks and tastes.....

Well please don't tell Pastor, but I might be trying to evade doing my Christian Duty to Eat More Meat

I think it's positively sinful to eat ethnic food. Not only does it hotten up the blood, it also looks like dirty, depraved sex acts when you are eating a burrito or taco. I'm sure that is why the homers like it so much.

Re: Taco Bell, the beef on Beef

            I don't understand the confusion...

The word "burrito" means "little donkey" in Spanish... do people get upset that there's no donkey meat in their burritos?

"Gordita" means "little fat girl" in Spanish... I'd be pretty upset if there was actual human flesh being served at Taco Bell.

Do I need to go into "Mexican" pizza or "Meximelts"? No one expects there to be Mexicans in their food. I mean, really...

Taco Bell has items listed like "Beefy 5 Layer Burrito" and "Beefy Crunch Burrito". "Beefy" seems to imply something other than "beef".

Americans need to be less worried about Taco Bell and more concerned with praising the Lord...

I think Taco Bell should capitalize on all of this news by offering a beef flavored soybean and wheat protein taco for vegetarians.

Re: Taco Bell, the beef on Beef

I am wondering if the wheat and other ingredients adulterating the Taco Bell beef approximate the recipe for Catholic communion wafers?

I guess if one willingly ate at a Mexican 'inspired' restaurant, one would be on notice that there would be a Catholic element to the experience. But this is rather a more direct assault of Catholic virulence than might be expected.
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.

I agree with the point that it's best to avoid any and all ethnic food. It may seem harmless at first, but God only knows what these illegals are putting in the "food" to corrupt good Christian Americans.

Did you even read the article? We know what's in the tacos: isolated oat product, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodextrin, anti-dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch and sodium phosphate.

Sounds like the ingredients for a deadly biological weapon.

People put that in their bodies? Willingly?

Look, the stock price is going down and there has never been a proven case of collapse of all bodily organs caused by any of Taco Bell's delicious and nutritious products! What's the matter with people?

Take the stuff home and give it your dog... wait - don't do that, dog's don't take well to sodium phosphate - give it to your servants or something. That's it! Give it to your horse - isolated oat products are manna to a horse!
