What is Landover's opinion on The Da Vinci Code?
Even though its an anti-paptist movie, its also an anti-Christian movie which makes it extremely blasphemous, for example it tries to teach us that Jesus had sex with the whore Mary Magdalene, which is extremely blasphemous. I am very happy that this movie actually is banned in the Faroe Islands
The owners of the Faroe Islands' two cinemas, located in the major towns Torshavn and Klaksvig, fear that the content would offend sentiments and have decided not to order copies.
Religion plays an important role in the Faroe Islands.
'We have chosen to ban the movie. It is blasphemous,' Jakup Eli Jacobsen, owner of the largest cinema, told the local Faroese newspaper Sosialurin.
Jacobsen said the distributor had confirmed that the movie closely followed the storyline in author Dan Brown's best-selling novel.
'We decided not to be those who would screen something blasphemous on the Faroe Islands,' he said.
Jacobsen said that although he had not read the book, he had been informed that the movie suggested that Jesus fathered a child.
'That was sufficient for our decision not to screen it,' Jacobsen said, adding he feared he could lose his business licence if he screened something sacrilegious.
The owner of the other cinema followed Jacobsen's example.
Is it banned in Freehold also?
