That question troubles me. As a True Christian, I can tell you that God wants to punish you MORE than he wants to save you.
That goes equally for Catholics and Muslims.

there are 2 kinds of people in this world - unsaved and saved. Thats how God sees it. Noone requires more help....youre either on the path to salvation, or lost in some godforsaken spiritual desert.
Lets just see if we can explain this a bit more clearly in a hypothetical (thats a make believe situation)
3 men are lost in the desert. Jesus arrives in his Holy Helicopter of Salvation called 'Infinite Mercy', and takes the 1 True Christian away to eternal paradise.
The Muslim and the Catholic are left dying of thirst in the desert with no chance of assistance.
Which one appears to require more help?
Answer - Neither.
both are equally doomed.
