I think you summarized beautifully exactly what I am here standing against. It is not the religion, it is instead, the judgement.

I see no need for such outward judging on the other humans that share not only this planet but the exact same species with you.
I haven't heard it yet, but I expect you will next produce for us an eloquent defense of child-rapists, right?

After all, God created children, and gave men the ability to be pedophiles, and put those cute children within their reach to use as their sex puppets.

So we shouldn't judge them, correct?

I will reiterate, believe what you wish, behave as you wish but if that means outwardly judging people to the point of hatred then I'm afraid I disagree.

    ...

All I am trying to do is insight a little more compassion into the hearts and minds of the people with whom I share such a wonderful life and world.
No, all you are trying to do is convince us that we should do what you want us to do, instead of what God says in the Bible that HE wants us to do.

Who do you think we're going to listen to, kid? Here's a hint:

    Luke 12:4-5

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Re: What is it like to be an atheist?

Now that we have a couple of God mocking atheists here, I would like some atheists perspectives on a subject that I'm working on. I do freelance work for the world famous Jack T. Chick (Chick tracts) and we're working on a tract about atheists, so, first question; when you are on a 'date' with another man, does size matter? Also, what substance do you people use when you make pentagrams in cemetaries? I realise, of course, that all you atheists know each other from your secret meetings and all, but do you have a secret handshake or signal to communicate around normal people? My research so far found out how atheists tap their feet rapidly in public restrooms to advertise their availability to other homos/atheists, but other than that the atheist agenda is a dark mystery to us.

Re: What is it like to be an atheist?

Hello everyone. My name is Luke, and yes, I'm an Atheist.

I came across this thread after a friend posted something something on a debate about a flat earth. But I digress, let us not discuss that.

On topic, I thought I would let you know what I do and what it is like to be an Atheist.

I shall use this very ignorant template, which was posted by H. Montague Worthington on the first page...

9:22 a.m. I am already awake, having started work at 7am

9:45 a.m. Currently well into my day of broadcasting, as I am a transmission engineer, who's job it is to make sure technical equipment is working and fixed if necessary...

10:00 a.m. Stare into the mirror thinking about your sad, pointless life and your inevitable date with Satan. - Just.. Wow. How can you say something like this? I have saved lives thanks to my profession in communication. I have helped loved ones communicate long distances. I wouldn't say my life is pointless at all... I strive to do good things, and believe myself to be a selfless person who thinks of others.

10:05 a.m. Shave. - Well yes, I do have to.

10:16 a.m. Wonder where your life went wrong-- "Oh yeah, that's right--- avoiding church and rebuking Almighty God is how I became a hopless wretch," you say to yourself. - I'm actually starting to get a little offended by these general accusations made here... Yes, I have avoided Church because I have not needed it. That was my decision to make. I am in no way a hopeless wretch.

11:05 a.m. Porn on computer. I do not need pornographic material. I have a loving wife.

1:36 p.m. Mailman arrives with Government handout check. Again, I am full-time employed, and have been since I left University.

3:31 p.m. Call your drug dealer for more drugs to dull your pain. Drugs are a terrible thing, and I don't believe there is any reason to use them. They are immoral, cause health problems and inadvertantly affect everything around those that use them.

4:22 p.m. Regular porn won't do it for you any more, so it's on to gay porn. Homophobia? I believe that everyone is equal. What does homosexuality have to do with Atheism? I even find the term Atheism a little unnerving, as I do not wasn't to be segregated to a group of people.

5:06 p.m. Call a guy offering sodomy for sale on Craigslist. These comments are getting very immature

        6:00 p.m. More drugs. No

        7:00 p.m. More porn. No

8:33 p.m. Pledge allegiance to Obama. I am British, so perform no 'pledges'

9:10 p.m. Call another guy on Craigslist. Right...

9:52 p.m. Drive to liquor store, guzzling liquor all the way home. Again, I don't drink.

10:22 p.m. More drugs. Enough of this..

11:42 p.m. Pass out, drugged up and drunk on the floor of the bathroom. By this time I'm usually in bed with my wife, after having a lovely evening together seeing some friends or coming home from some of our hobbies, such as swimming.

I would think being an atheist must be a very cold way to be. Knowing you are all alone, being in the same room as others but being disconnected.
To never know what it is like to have Jesus embrace you, to have Him help you out, to be with you late at night when you are in bed, to have your back. Such horror! Although upon death, you do get tossed into a lake of simmering brimstone so I guess it evens out.
I am not alone. I have a loving family and a large circle of friends and work colleagues.

I imagine that the atheist must lead a very empty, unsatisfying life. They know no joy, nor can they find solace the way we True Christians™ do. They can't look at themselves in a mirror out of shame. They are friendless and addicted to the latest fad foods (tofu, organic dogmeat, etc). They worship science and yet are continually let down when their science gods can't heal the sick or raise the dead the way Jesus can. I imagine they spend most of their time masturbating, in a pathetic attempt to gain a few fleeting moments of relief from their daily torment.

And yet they cling to their ridiculous cult.
Fad foods are a terrible thing, that I agree, are terrible for our society. I have highlighted something you said in bold. Worship science? I do not, as you say, 'worship' it. I find it interesting. Of course, some science has brought the death of millions of people. Yet it has also cured people of serious illnesses, or prevented them. And I find the irony in you using the term 'cult' very amusing.

Tell me, if you don't mind, is it terribly lonely? You see, the article in the OP suggests I understand your beliefs, but what beliefs do you have? What beliefs can you have as an atheist? It seems to me with an absence of beliefs, you all are simply responding to instinct, thus scrounging for food and sex in whatever manner works.
I find they way you talk to people very rude. I have seen many of your posts around and find them highly condescending. My beliefs? I believe in logic. I believe in looking at all evidence in any situation to get a suitable outcome that would benefit all (if possible).

I think I'll leave a little summery, and then finish.
I believe that I am a kind person. I have never physically or mentally hurt someone on purpose, I help those in need, I work, don't drink or do drugs. I have loving family and friends, donate to our local childrens hospital, and take part in another local charity for disability sports. I pay my taxes, work hard and hope to pass on the loving life I have had onto my children.

        Lastly, I shall say this

        Quote:

This is the type of judgement that upsets me. How can you say such a thing to someone? Just because we may not believe in religion that you do, our morals as human beings are the same. You do not have to be a Christian to differentiate right from wrong. And, to those that do wrong, it is down to them as a human being, not their religion.

There are bad people in this world.
        Some are Atheists,
        some are Christians,
        some are Buddhist,
        some are Muslim,

        The list goes on.
        Good day.

I know you're trying to postpone the inevitable until your deathbed (like all atheists), but you never know when the LORD will lose patience with you. I suggest you pull your head out of your ass and confess that Jesus Christ is LORD before you have no more opportunity to do so. You can read more here:

              Luke1988:
Atheists have hollow, empty lives. You do not know it because your life has always been desolate. Be honest, haven't you lay awake on some nights, feeling a tad introspective, thinking. Realizing it is only you in your head, in your bed, in your life. That for all the people around you, you are really alone. No one really knows the 'real you'. No one hears you scream in silent torture. You think you are better off only to satisfy your smug wishes, nay, hopes, that this is really all there is and in rash foolishness, you are not missing out.
Well friend, I am here to tell you that your life really is a pitiful excuse and a utter waste. Jesus has been standing in the hallway of your life since you were born, just waiting to be invited in. He is okay with you cheating at cards and is more than happy to hear you tell the same bad jokes, over and over, (and wrong every time too). He does not want you to live in the hopelessness of despair.
Wouldn't you like to cozy up to a Good Book, the KJV? Imagine the joy of placing yourself in the action. Jesus can do that for you. So do not give up on life son, give it God instead.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Well if the definition of an Atheist is such, then I am ignorant.
So if I am wrong, and am not an Atheist... then I am just a non-believe of religion. Which, I thought, was definition of Atheism.

In Romans 1, the Apostle Paul tells us that knowledge of God is imprinted on all our hearts. Some, like you, try to deny this Truth and postpone your inevitable confession of Jesus Christ as LORD (Romans 14:11), but your delusion is borne of vanity.

                        Romans 1:18-23
                        For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Trying to deny that Jesus is LORD is like arguing against the existence of air, all the while breathing it in. You are a wicked little man, and a fool. In Jesus' name, I rebuke you!

How are you open minded when you shun every other possibility and put your head back in the Bible for ALL of your answers? Your term proof is hilarious..

You see, where you went wrong is here: You studied for confirmation of how God didn't create everything. What you should have studied is this: 'How were we created?' and started from scratch without some book. the book is NOT proof. It's a book! Stories!

You know why I think you believe in the term 'God'. Because you totally gave up and need to believe in something. You all NEED to believe in something because you have no thought process for yourselves. I find it extremely sad... It's like clutching at straws... Your life was unfulfilled before you apparently found Jesus... You know why? Because you lived a boring life with a gaping hole where you needed something to cling on to. Then found other people with this common belief, banded together and carried on the old stories from thousands of years ago.

I get it. Some people need that to live their lives. Just the tiniest hope that their utter delusion might just be real and we'll all go to Heaven.

There is no talking sense into you, just like there is no way you will talk these stories of yours into me.

                          So let's agree to disagree.
Also, the world is spherical. How you can believe it is flat is totally beyond me. It saddens me that when you people breed, you pass on this utter drivel onto your poor children...

                          Good night.
A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. Proverbs 26:3

Even your fellow atheists insist that anyone who capitalizes "atheist" doesn't even know what it means:

One of the earliest signs that a person doesn't really understand what atheism is comes when they spell "atheism" or "atheist" with a capital A in the middle of a sentence. In English, this is only grammatical with proper nouns and thus this signals that the person imagines atheism to a be a proper noun — in other words, some sort of ideology or religion like Christianity or Objectivism. When you see someone inappropriately capitalizing atheism, beware.

                            ...

The most creative excuse I've seen for misspelling atheism and atheist is that it's supposed to be a sign of "respect." I've been assured that the person really did understand that atheism is merely an absence of belief in gods, but was convinced that atheism deserved to be treated with the same respect as Christianity and thus should be capitalized just as Christianity is capitalized.

This excuse is so weak that I hardly know where to begin with it. Perhaps it's sufficient to point out that capitalization in English has nothing whatsoever to do with "respect" and everything to do with separating out proper nouns. If a person really does believe that capitalization is done out of "respect," then they don't even comprehend basic English grammar and you should beware of them even more than if they merely didn’t understand atheism.

A pretentious twat!? Wow, you arrogant, rude individual.
I was just trying to make sure my grammar was correct. That is alll! I thought it was correct with a capital A. Like I thought it was correct that Christian has a capital C.

In another post I made, I actually question the whole segregation of 'atheism', as I don't like the idea of being just another group of people who believe in 'x'.

I cannot get over how rude you are. You are a Rev. and you curse at me like this?

I have also just received a notification for being infracted for not believing in what you guys do... Does Rev. M. Rodimer get infracted for calling me a twat?

                              Wouldn't have thought so.

Your rant is very interesting. Here you are surrounded by Godly people and it raises your adrenaline so high that you can't help but to be argumentative and insulting.

Friend, you would find much peace if only you let JESUS into your heart.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you!
