There's several things I meant in my post.

First of all, something so old should be taken with a grain of salt, since the author is working with values and beliefs that were actual in his time, but might have changed over the years.

I mean, there's such works like Odyssey and Iliad that also explain how the world came to be and so on, yet few (if any) people consider it gospel (I believe that's the term).

Also, if the KJV bible is the correct one, or at least the most accurate one, then what's the point of all the latter ones? I mean, if the one true bible came out in 17th century, and contains nothing but truth, then all the other versions that came afterwards are nothing but nonsense.

Then again, same argument could be made by picking a different version of the bible and then comparing others to it.

Besides, if KJV is the correct one, then what about the ones that came before it? What about following the vanilla version? I mean, if people are set to follow the most true bible of them all, logic dictates that the first version is the one to pick. Everything after that will be nothing more than a twisted version, that has been "adjusted" to be in accordance of the popular views of the time.

Either way, my question still stands. How does one determine that a certain version (apparently KJV in this case) is the real and correct one, and that others are nothing more than nonsense?

The Holy Bible is the LITERAL word of God. It's not just "some old book." The KJV Bible contains all of the rules and standards that God wants us to obey. It's quite simple, really.

Well im an atheist from the state of California. Being a atheist is a philosophical outlook that is very common in a devolved nation. Once knowledge is open to the general public atheism (the lack of belief in religion) will grow. As an atheist I also believe in no afterlife, this means that I have to live to the fullest in this live, many would say that atheists have nothing to live for but we atheists have every thing to live for because this is our only one and we make the best of it. To improve the lives of ourselves and everyone around us. We have everything to live for but nothing to die for. We do our best to spread peace and logic, I hope that you read this so people can realize that atheists are good people to with full and happy lives. Have a nice day

Actually it's incredibly comfortable. Knowing there's no bullshit ("naughty word removed") like hell, no-one watching you masturbate or have sex, it's nice to have a little privacy don't you think? It's nice knowing that you don't have to spend an eternity in some "paradise", eventually that would become boring. Disappearing from all existence or spending the rest of everything with a bossy figure? I'd choose the first option.

Atheism is a disease just like the AIDS. It a conduit for the anal sex, drug use and liberalism.

Friend, even eviloutions agree, all people were descended from the white race of God. Over time, the lesser beings, serving their masters, developed dark skin to identify/differentiate them from their betters as a result for their work in the fields.
I have seen many bastard unwanted children who worked in the fields that over time, develop the same dark skin. It was a gift from God that the ungrateful never seem to appreciate.
