    What is hell like?

Does LBC believe that hell involves literal fire and flames?

My own view is that when the Bible speaks of hell, it refers to a state of separation from God. The flames, lake of fire, etc. are symbolic.
In Christ there is no East or West,
    In Him no South or North;
But one great fellowship of love
    Throughout the whole wide earth.

Keep making up your theology as you go along rather than reading the Bible, and you'll learn the truth soon enough.

        Re: What is hell like?

What kind of an idiotic question is that? Of course Hell is a real place of eternal torment and unspeakable suffering. Take a look at THIS for all the gruesome details.

You also might want to take a look at a few verses in The Holy KJV Bible. The way God describes it, hell doesn't sound imaginary at all.

        Matthew 13:41-42
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

        Mark 9:43-48
... into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

        2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction.

        Revelation 14:10-11
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever.

        Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Don't worry Jackie boy, you'll find out just how real hellfire is one day soon. And all the True Christians™ that you've been persecuting will be laughing our heads off while we watch you get anally raped by satan's huge barbed tallywacker for all eternity. Praise Jesus!!

Excellent point, Brother. Here we see a perfect example of cafeteria Christianity in action: The parts of the Bible that Jacqueline likes are to be read literally, while the rest of it is "symbolic" or "no longer in effect."
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. Re: What is hell like?

LBC are the real cafetaria Christians. Clearly certain verses of the Bible about the need to love your enemy, sell your possessions, abstain from pork and shellfish, and not to lend money at interest don't carry much weight around here.

The difference between the validity of my interpretation and your interpretation is this:
you are not in Christ, just in a church. Those who know the Lord Jesus, and are filled with the Author of the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit, have a completely different perspective to those who only have a religion about Jesus, whom they do not know personally.

You cannot see what all Christians can see because as yet you have not met with Jesus Christ. So I don't really think it is wise of you to try and teach those who do know Him, when all you have to look at these things with is dry text. You must be born again.

As I am now finally on my path to Salvation, I don't really care what hell involves.

All I know is that the kind True Christians™ at LBC, along with the Trusted Word of the The Holy KJV Bible are working overtime (Bless) to ensure that I don't end up where you're obviously going.

The only entity that seems to care about your own view is you. Funny that.

Save your phallic symbolism for your eternity in hell.

We've been through this before. Jesus gave us ways of discerning who is in Him and who is not, and as we've shown, we pass with flying colors, while your "church" flunks. Otherwise, any false Christian could say, "My interpretation is right because I'm in Christ, and you're not," and then where would be be?

Just a minute Jacques – does accusing (albeit falsely) us absolve you? I think not. Who was it who told a story about giving out the New Testament only, thus denying 2/3rds of God’s Word? It was you!
Clearly certain verses of the Bible about the need (i) to love your enemy, (ii) sell your possessions, (iii) abstain from pork and shellfish, and (iv) not to lend money at interest don't carry much weight around here.

                    (i) Love your enemy in the way God loves His enemies? I hear Hell’s pretty well bursting at the seams with unbelievers and worshippers of false gods; that would be you, wouldn’t it? We try to follow God’s example.

(ii) We give real help with that which the Lord has blessed us: Lu:7:22: Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
And if we sell our possessions and give to the poor, the poor will become the new rich and be denied heaven, Lu:6:20: And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

Whilst those who are Saved (Landover) continue with His works.
Ro:8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Ro:8:2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

(iii)Tell me, have you ever read the Bible? M't:15:11: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

(iv) We don’t lend money at Landover, so there’s no use coming here pan-handling. We might look upon a loan to you from one of the three larger banks in which Landover is a major shareholder though. You would find that such “usuary” would please the Apostles:
“M't:25:27: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
Lu:19:23: Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?”Note how it's quoted twice, so it must be right! I think God need to hear a prayer for forgiveness from you here!

You cannot see what all Christians can see because as yet you have not met with Jesus Christ.
How do you presume to know this? Are you attempting to give yourself the power and Magnificence of a God to Whom All is known? Jacques, I abhor many things but blasphemy is, literally, unforgivable.

Jacques, you need to get in touch with Real, 100%, unadulterated, fully-rigged, flag-flying Christianity. When you understand fully what you are required to believe, then
                    will your eyes be opened.

At that stage you will post at Landover a sincere apology for ever doubting our beliefs and you will announce that you have left the apostate church of Rome. I guarantee that the feeling inside you, as you do this, will be one of liberation; a clear, lucid vision of a future free from that nagging catlick guilt and doubt.

P.S. I bet when you were a boy, you would make up sins to confess because you couldn't think of any you had committed and you feared the priest would insist that you had. And that's how the regime, and your life as a papist, began.

Jacques, Landover awaits with open arms.

In the Beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. Genesis 1.1. This scripture is the first verse of the Bible for a reason. It lays the foundation for the absolute truth found in God's Holy WORD, the Bible.

You disgust Jesus and me. You barge into His favorite forum uninvited and unwelcome, spewing nothing but lies and hatred, pretending to be a Baptist (when in fact you could NEVER be accepted by even the most liberal of Baptist churches) and assuming the identity of a Christian.

Jesus sees through your lies, papist. And so do we.
