Some great points there, especially how Jesus didn't need to recite the whole Old Testament every time He spoke just to provide context. The people He was speaking to would already know that.
James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Abandoned wretches always come up with new words to justify their libidinous appetites. "Anything in the gin joint" translates readily as bisexual or polyamorous so that fidelity becomes not only undesirable but impossible. Perhaps in bygone centuries there were houses where one could simply turn up to see who else was there, themed according preference, or where small parties of two or more could meet. For example, whatever "furries" were called in 1692, there'd be a place they could go to dress up as tapirs snurfling around doing whatever tapir furries do. But no-one expected them to be acknowledged as tapirs outside their house of assignation. (Sort of like a 17th century furry speakeasy.) But for someone married, persisting with polyamorous tapir liaisons is adultery. Making up a word for it doesn't change that. God continues:
James 2:1-4 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
James wouldn't have known that one day furries would waltz around expecting to be addressed as their species of choice in public. God knew though, and of course they both knew about libertines up for "anything in the gin joint" so we do have a very good message for the 21st century where everyone gets their own truth and nobody is ever wrong. Many homosexuals parading themselves as "bisexual" or "polyamorous" have enough money to get themselves on TV, dripping in bling and tasteless fabrics. Fawning respect to him that weareth the gay clothing is almost guaranteed, or to others with a gold ring on every other finger, great tawdry globs, their every utterance deferred to even in places pretending to follow God.
