  • draft of a new poem for the Lord composed in-post

This happened just tonight. It is but a first draft, perhaps it is the last:

    ______________

    I met a man
    Outside K-Mart.

I told him in few words
    Of God. And Jesus:
    How He'd save him.

    The man looked down
    Then up, dumbfounded.
Then he turned and walked away.

    ~

    I met a man
    Outside K-Mart.
    He now has gone
    Back home to pray.

    We know he's safe now,
    And well-stocked,
    With soul, of which,
    before, he had not.

    I met a man
    Outside K-Mart.
God saved him from a sentence
    Of everlasting death to come
    For those without repentance.

God has taught me to convert
The K-Mart man from shirts, to shirk
The shallow and the commercial ways,
Of seekers of false truths today.

    I met a man
    Outside K-Mart. Oh,
God, I think and hope I helped
him shop, and buy The Way....

    ______________

    humbly yours in Christ,

PP; drafted, up for God's corrections.

Quite brilliant, but an outstanding final verse! It brought it all together perfectly.
