PRAYER Not Politics Will Solve Mass Shootings

“First of all, you’ve got to recognize that when there’s a tragedy like this, the first thing we should be thinking about is praying for the people who were injured and doing whatever we can to help them, to help law enforcement,” he said, echoing other politicians. “We shouldn’t first be thinking of promoting our political agenda. I think we see too much of that, where people say, ‘Oh ok, now you have to have gun control.’”

These are the very words of Congressman Steve Scalise from the God-fearing state of Louisiana.


He was shot by a maniacal liberal and he's still magnanimous enough to forgive and continue the fight for gun rights.


Clearly, Scalise and other Republicans want our prayers and not our political interference. Now is not the time to actually DO anything. Prayer will guide our country to safety. Gun control is dangerous.

Remember, as a , your job is to pray and support our leaders, not advocate for political change. Such actions are not only useless, they are disrespectfull of the victims and their families.

I'm very optimistic in light of this recent shooting that left more than 50 people dead and 400 injured. I think this will be a turning point for our nation. I'm confident that after having mass shootings happen on a monthly or weekly basis for years and years, and despite our circumstances and response not changing, and that despite us not really taking any new significant action to solve it, that this is the time that our prayers will once and for all make this mass shooting issue go away. I think our prayers combined with our lack of measures in other areas might finally be paying off. After all, it shows that we really, really trust God.

Just note that in the event we find out this shooter came from a Muslim country I reserve the right to amend my viewpoint and use this to support a travel ban, but until then, I remain steadfast that no further action beyond our prayers should be taken.

Indeed. If we do things in order to stop this mass shootings, we won't be believing in our vengative Lord:

Romans 12:19 - Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.



So we can let them shoot, God will take care.


Likewise, we should not fear this mass shootings as they only kill the body:


Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.



Also, you SHOULD have a gun to defend yourself. Even of you don't have nothing but your clothes. SELL YOUR CLOTHES:

Brilliant! When people foolishly declare that the Bible is largely silent on gun ownership because guns had not been invented yet when it was written, I will challenge them with that verse from Luke. It's practically prescient. But then, so much of the Bible is.
