Mrs Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, made the remarks during a speech to supporters at a fundraiser in Colorado.
She said Obama "is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country".
The Alaska Governor was referring to William Ayers, a member of the radical 1960s group the Weathermen who placed bombs at the Pentagon and the Capitol.
He reportedly supported Mr Obama's first run for public office in 1995.

which, considering his islamofascist roots make him disposed to bomb things, is not much of a surprise, save that the terrorist group in question are The Weathermen.

There is no surprise to those "in the know." At the beginning of the year, Pat Robertson said that God spoke to him and told him who would win, but that he would not reveal this secret because he was afraid that 60 Minutes' Andy Rooney would make fun of him.

So all you have to do is ask Pat Robertson.

On a day when Obama hit John McCain for his past involvement in the "Keating Five" scandal, running mate Sarah Palin hit Obama even harder for his association with former Weatherman Bill Ayers, calling the Democratic nominee "less than truthful" in his statement that Ayers "was just someone in the neighborhood" they shared in Chicago, according to prepared remarks released by the campaign.

"There's even more to the story," Palin said at a campaign stop in Florida, echoing remarks she made over the weekend. "His own top adviser said they were, quote, 'certainly friendly.' In fact, Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers's home. And they've worked together on various projects in Chicago."

The Weathermen were initially part of the Revolutionary Youth Movement (RYM) within the SDS, splitting from the RYM's Maoists by claiming there was no time to build a vanguard party and that revolutionary war against the United States government and the capitalist system should begin immediately. Their founding document called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements[2] to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and achieve a classless world: world communism."[3]
