  • Capital Punishment, God's law.

Brothers and Sisters, I have given this much thought, I find 14, yes 14 clear cut examples of when God authorises the use of capital punishment. Last week in Illinois the namby pamby liberal Governor Quinn abolished the death penalty. I have not looked into just how many other states have turned there back to God, but I am sure there are many. If God did not want people put to death for committing these grave atrocities why did He put it in writing?

    1) For Adultery
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. -- Leviticus 20:10

    2) For Animals
If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned. -- Exodus 21:28

    3) For Beastiality

Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death. -- Exodus 22:19
And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. -- Leviticus 20:15
And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. -- Leviticus 20:16

    4) For Blasphemy
He that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him. -- Leviticus 24:16

    5) For Breaking the Sabbath
Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death. -- Exodus 31:14
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. -- Exodus 31:15
Six days shall work bedone, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. -- Exodus 35:2

    6) For Disobedient children

He that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. -- Exodus 21:15
He that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. -- Exodus 21:17
For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. -- Leviticus 20:9

    7) For Homosexuality
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. -- Leviticus 20:13

    8) For Incest
And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. -- Leviticus 20:11
And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them. -- Leviticus 20:12
And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. -- Leviticus 20:14

    9) For Murder
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed. -- Genesis 9:6

    10) For Rape Victims who don't cry out loudly enough
If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. -- Deuteronomy 22:23-24

    11) For Stealing Slaves
He that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. -- Exodus 21:16

    12) For not being a Virgin on the night of the wedding
If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her ... and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate.... But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.-- Deuteronomy 22:13-22

    13) For Witches
Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. -- Exodus 22:18

    14) For Worshipping another god
He that sacrificeth unto any god save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed. -- Exodus 22:20 Now what is the appropriate way to carry out the impending sentence?
Clearly God is in favor of stoning( and is my personal favorite). I do foresee a bit of a problem. Good Christian men and women could suffer injury from hurling rocks, torn rotator cuffs etc. Lets look at the spirit of the law. As long as we are doing God's bidding can we take a more progressive approach?

Firing squads ( For men only, females have no business holding a firearm)

Hanging ( stretching of the neck, quick and painless)

Electric Chair ( lets bring back good ole Sparky)

Burning at the stake( not to sure, wood is not cheap and can be messy)

Gas chamber ( a good use of modern chemicals)

I know that some of our more progressive states allow the use of lethal injections as a way of offing a perpetrator. I myself am not a big fan of this. Its not cost effective and could possible make the prisoner a drug addict before he/she dies.

As a way of being fare the condemned person should be allowed to pick his/ her own way of death.

There are those who moan and whine about the necessity to hang those who commit abominations. The Lord of Mercy explains to them:

Le:18:25: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
Le:18:26: Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
Le:18:27: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled
Le:18:28: That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
Le:18:29: For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
Le:18:30: Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.

Nu:35:30: Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.
Nu:35:31: Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.
Nu:35:32: And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
Nu:35:33: So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
Nu:35:34: Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.

You would have thought that the Environmentalist would have been in favor of putting people to death, they are always banging on about "defiling the land."

That is nice. I have no doubt according to Kentucky standards you are a great marksman if you don't shoot your own foot. Here in Iowa we actually try to hit things when we shoot at them. Don't you have pie to bake?

To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!

I am without a husband at this time. Sadly my last husband has passed on and lives with Jesus.

Yes I do have a pie to bake. I can hit what I aim at, come down to my neck of the woods and I will be glad to take you out hunting, if you think you can keep up. You are elderly, maybe I should get you a walker.
