If. let's say, one is beset by these "Bacteria" and one prays, then according to the author, both human and "bacteria" benefit. This would indicate that the "bacteria" increase, which, according to secular scientists, would appear to be a bad thing and to the detriment of the human host.
I can only assume that one must target the prayers exactly: a simple, "Oh Lord, make all better." would affect both patient and bacteria. So, "Smite all bacteria and make <insert name> better." might work.
However, you are then asking Him to smite His Own Creation - (He did make bacteria, didn't he? Were they on the Ark? Do they breath through their nostrils?, ... so many questions.)
I'll admit I'm puzzled at the author's work and wonder as to its accuracy.
