Do you want to start listening to something different?

It's just show. I don't thing they look like that in there real lifes.
Well, they certainly will look extremely unhappy when they're suffering in eternal Hellfire!
Hm... the entertainment... somehow, I find it unique to other artists. They look different. And the music they make is different. it's called "Black Metal".You can read more about it here if you want: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_metal
It's unique. That's what I think is cool about it.

So you mean, they're exactly the same as every other black metal band on the face of the planet? Friend, I fail to see how turning yourself into a clone of Emperor makes you unique or different.

They look funny. Hm... is it pop music? Rock? They look like normal people and that's what I think is boring with that kind of music. I've been looking for something unique for a long time and now I've finnaly found it!
So you believe it's acceptable to stereotype people based on their appearance?

Also... if you would start listening to music that has Satan is there theme, would you not be a true christian anymore or what?

No more than if I went to a "church" service that had Allah or the Archbishop of Canterbury as its theme. Any more stupid questions?

Also that band there... I think they look "geeky".(?)
Once again demonstrating that closed-minded secularists would far rather judge others on their appearance than their behaviour or beliefs.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

I'm going to do you a True Christian™ favor. It's not a good idea to insult a senior pastor. If you disagree, that's fine, but argue in a more tactful manner.

I never claimed that black metal was mainstream, or that it was similar to the styles defined by popular hippity-hop beat combos such as Fresh BENEDICT and the Ratstinkers, or 50 Zarqawi and tha G-Obama crew. I just pointed out that it relies on slavish emulation of every other black metal band ever to have existed, a frankly unrefutable point.

Well for me it isn't the same. Stop talking to me. You're just trying to be smarter than me. You are a grown up man(right) and you know more than a teenager. I don't think any black metal band is a clone of some other black metal band.

Really? Listen to Florescent Condoms or MOD. They're old school, yet most of the "black metal" bands of today sound very much the same. Death metal was big a long long time ago. Alternative stopped being alternative when it hit the top 40 charts. Ask a kid who the Misfitz were and they'll stare at you like you're from Mars.

It's not new, by any means. I hate to be the one to tell you, but such is life.

I'd reccomend starting with KJV1611 on audio CD, if reading is too difficult. Take notes on what you learn, then write some songs about it.

Here is some "weird" music for you. It is about the "Eternal Bosom of Hot Love":

                    Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
                    ...and get off my lawn

Don't come onto this forum, as a GUEST, and give orders to the Pastors.

Yes, he is. And yes, he does.

Maybe you should listen to the bwack metal bands they've mentioned and see how similar they all are.

Better yet, listen to something that's edifying. (Big word. Look it up.)

Finally, last time I checked, this was the LANDOVER BAPTIST CHURCH forum, not the BWACK METAL forum. How about discussing something having relevance to Jesus instead of your makeup-wearing, scary-wannabe idols?

What, this is up to date? When I saw these record albums It was like learning about the history of Music. Your music is not very good, I just listened to some of it. It goes to slow, it looses intrest very fast, and pretty much boring.
I'm not a fan of Metal, but I do like this Band called Family Force 5. No swearing, references to Satan (infact nothing about religion for that matter.) so ya check 'em out here: http://www.familyforce5.com/

Look what came in the mail today! The Gert Jonnies! I can't wait to put it on my record player and snap my fingers to their up beat Christian tunes.

Nothing like a good Christian Polka to put a pep in your step when you are sweeping floors or dusting!.

If you would like a copy just let me know!

The seated one looks rather familiar. And not very boyish.

Most of the hard-core punk rock music that my son listened to before his timely suicide is garbage. However, a positive message can be found here and there if you look for it. Some recommended tracks for Christian™ teens:

Bad Brains - "Don't Blow Bubbles"
"Jah" didn't create AIDS any more than did Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny, but this song affirms the virtues of God's cleaning agent in an urgent yet upbeat way. Required listening for rebellious young homers!

Aryan Disgrace - "Faggot In The Family"
See above. The music is still a bit crude and screamy for my tastes (I much prefer the wholesome croon of Bing Crosby or the Gaede twins) but the lyrics deal earnestly with the anguish any Christian feels upon discovering that the sin of homerism has tainted his bloodline.

SOD - "Speak English Or Die"
The title says it all, no? A great tune to blast when (legally) mowing down wetbacks at the Rio Grande.

Minor Threat - "Guily Of Being Saved"
Was that the title? I can't remember—it was either "saved" or a close synonym.

That about covers it, I think. If there's anything else of value to be found within the genre, I haven't heard it, nor do I much care to.
