Atheists and Agnostics try to sift through what's "right" and "wrong" for themselves. They don't rely on one book or leader to define for them what their values are.

But there can be atheists and agnostics who agree with you on many things...the inspiration for the shared beliefs might just come from a different place is all.

That's life.

You know how a christian says that what they believe is right and how what you believe is wrong ignorant?

Hypocritical (Hypocrite) - a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

Simpler terms - Person says that something is wrong, said person does it even though they said it was wrong

Example - Person: Don't hit me it is mean -- Person 1 then hits Person 2

So "Think for yourself", by Sister Mary Maria way of using Hypocritical or also Hypocrite means they tell someone to think for yourself but they don't think for themselves?

I happen to be a Godless Scumbag Heathen. And I am not at all ashamed to say that I envy those who can find spirituality with a religion such as the Christianity that the members of this board have found in such rich deposits.

I believe it is in human nature to doubt, to question, to use logic to understand the world around them. You may call it the Devil's workings, yet I call it logical, simple, romantic even.

If I should be allowed to redirect this topic on a more self-opinionated note; I shall say that as a personal philosophy...I will believe anything, provided that it is first beautiful. And how can an amateur poet such as myself not see the romance in a God-Like figure protecting the ideal of goodness and justice in the world. But then again, is it not also reasonable to say there is a beauty in the void? Imagine a world with no such protector, no such symbol to guide the world into peace and harmony. Would it not be the pinnacle of poetry to see people become these perfect creatures without the help of the divine? Or the opposite, either will do and amount to the same level in my romantic standards.

I believe any christian can sympathize with godless heathens if they only look to appreciate their own god. Think of it, how better to appreciate the existence of a God then to imagine a world without.

I realise I've wandered into this thread too late, and this person probably no longer posts here, but I just had to say that I love this post. It's beautiful, thoughtful, and well written. You Lovely Landoverites may not agree with a single word of it, or a single word I say for that matter, but this is just a great post and I wish there were more posts like it: the kind of posts that are just a pleasure to read. Just wanted to throw that out there.
