I know at first it sounds good, the Devil dieing. But I'm afraid folks might become lax in their spiritual tendencies. Anyway that news of Ted Kennedy having a false stroke reminded me that someday, the Devil might die. Do you think GOD would make another Devil, just to keep us on our "spiritual toes"??? YOUR THOUGHTS???

Re: What If the Devil Were to Die???
The way I see it is, without the devil there would be no sin. Without sin there would be no punishment. If we have no punishment then how can we know Christ's forgiveness?Originally posted by Glendora Christianson View PostDo you think GOD would make another Devil, just to keep us on our "spiritual toes"??? Jesus would just be another carpenter without the devil.

Re: What If the Devil Were to Die???
Oh ye of little faith! Can you not see that although sin as such may not exist, God's law would still be about and there still would be people about who were mildly unpleasant in a sort of "I can't quite put my finger on it" way? These people would still need some sort of mild rebuking.Originally posted by snottyduck View PostIf there is no devil then no church would keep existing because the thing that keep beliefs going is the fact that there is some bad dude (the devil) has some infernal place were the so called sinners go to. Without this fear no belief would ever exist.
Then there would be that sort of person who, in the army, was the only man not to break step when marching over the bridge - the odd one out. Would that be permissible?
There would be the mass of the unsaved heathens who would all end up somewhere darkish and slightly warm* but no one would bother them particularly.

Hmmm... I'll go away and think about this.sigpic

Re: What If the Devil Were to Die???
Mother Glynndie, I fail to see how the death of Satan would affect humans in any way. Hell is God's creation, not Satan's. Sin is the choice of man to disobey God, not Satan causing him to.www.palibandaily.com - Your Christian News Source

Re: What If the Devil Were to Die???
har, I'm pretty sure I have no kids, most of my ex girlfriends are now just regular friends, so I would know if I got kids. The only one I don't see anymore is my ex-wife, but I saw her a few times when the divorce was going and no kids there either.Originally posted by revrggreen View Post.... that you know of....

Re: What If the Devil Were to Die???
Let me remind you all that there were 10's of 1000's of fallen angels cast out of Heaven by God. Though the exact number is never actually mentioned, we do know that there were 'myriads on myriads' of angels in Heaven, and we do know that 1/3 of the angels were cast out of Heaven. A myriad is 10,000, but we have no details of how many myriads on myriads there were to put an accurate number on it.Originally posted by Glendora Christianson View PostI know at first it sounds good, the Devil dieing. These fallen angels became Devils. Remember, Satan is but one of an army of devils, estimated at possibly over 100,000 Devils, who will stand against God in the final battle. In reality, Satan is nothing special. Though he is the leader of the armies of the fallen, he is just another Devil of whom there are 10's of 1,000s. If Satan died, another Devil would step up and take his place.
But also remember that Satan has only 1/3 of the armies of Heaven in his command. God and baby Jesus has the other 2/3... in addition to however many more God decides to pull out his hat for the final battle! Heck, he can make the World in just 6 days, how many MORE armies of angels will he create to face Satan in the last days?
Satan's so-called 'mighty' army of fallen angels against God's army, will be like watching a towel-head armed only with a pop-gun take on the full firepower of the US Army.... and we're talking tanks, nukes, sub-machine-guns, heavy duty hardware here! Satan doesn't stand a chance... and neither do his Wiccer followers! Glory!
