  • Bourbon, American, Baptist, so can I drink it???

Bourbon is an American drink. It was first distilled by a baptist minister.
However, Rev. Craig is best known for his distillery. He is credited with manufacturing the first bourbon on Big Spring Branch in 1789 by storing regular "moonshine" in newly charred oak barrels, giving the liquor its distinctive flavor. In honor of the good reverend, Heaven Hill distillery produces a bourbon named after him, which is considered to be one of its premium products

So, I'm assuming this is a Godly approved drink. What is Landover's opinion on this matter?

Jesus made wine. Bourbon is just American wine.

Yeah, but since Jesus is an American...

You're point being? Would you prefer wine to go with your French wine perhaps if good and Godly American whisky is too strong for you?

As you recall, Jesus turned water into wine.

              John 4:46
So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine ...

Never once did he turn wine into water. What message does this send us? It's clear:

              1 Timothy 5:23
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake ...

Drink no longer water! Now, if we can remove excess water from our wine, so much the better!

              PRAISE!

However, Bourbon is not made from wine. It is made from grain.

Jesus did NOT turn water into BEER, did He? Beer, therefore, is not Godly, but common (witness Budweiser!) and of the Devil. Concentrated spirits from fermented grains are CONCENTRATED SATAN!

True Christians(tm) know to stick to such Godly spirits as brandy, or arak, or grappa, or absinthes made with a grape alcohol base.
