I think that if god exists then he left opium poppy on earth for a reason. People should not feel pain unless they want too. We are intelligent, and that means we have the ability to manipulate the earth into our needs and desires much better then animals. While animals must suffer, we can take morphine and live our lives. The fact that we can treat pain is one of the things that defines us and our intelligence.
So if any pregnant woman read this, please do not hesitate to take pain medications.

I said opium poppy because a large amount of our current painkillers come from it. I did not say go smoke opium to forget your troubles, I think doing that would make them worse in the long run.

Crystal meth does not stop pain, so it's uses in medicine are few. It is used to help cure extreme obesity though, so there you have it.

And of course you do not recall God giving Job morphine, God is far to sadistic to consider that!
Imagine that, Job has his entire life ruined, his children killed, his wife left him, and he went through huge amounts of pain. For what? Why because God had to prove a point, of course! That is like getting impaled because the king wanted to prove to his friend that humans have organs.

So no, I do not think that Job could have expected any morphine, or any godly pain reducers for his huge amounts of pain, god loved him too much for that.
