  • A prayer for my Niece

My older brother, who strayed and has not come back to Christ, has a 3 year old daughter whom I adore. My mother, a fearfully Godly woman, has done the majority of raising the child, but I found something out about her life away from my mother that shocked me.

Her father lets her watch Disney movies. Yes. Like Frozen! And Nemo! I was in shock and horror.

I attempted calling my brother but he didn't answer my call.

I would like to ask prayer that my mother can gain full custody of the child and keep her safe from the wretchedness her father is exposing her to! It should be considered child abuse to brainwash a child with such a hideous liberal agenda!

    Ephesians 6:4
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

    Matthew 18:10
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

No point, dear. Jesus tells us not to waste our precious time and efforts on those who won't listen. According to Jesus, your brother is like a filthy pig (Matthew 7:6), and I for one won't throw my pearls before it. Nor will I waste my prayers. I have many prayers to pray and only so many hours in the day. It's a big responsibility to pray for people's needs. It's practically a full time job. Besides, with your brother's rebellious spirit he's already closed the door to Jesus' Bosom for your niece, her children, and maybe even grandchildren (Numbers 14:18).
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I in no way mean to argue, and if I overstep or am wrong please correct me, But Deuteronomy 24:16 says "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin."

So as I understand her life will be haunted with his iniquity throughout her life, Is there no way to save her soul?

You're very kind, dear, and I don't think argumentative. I think you're genuinely seeking Christ and I'm happy to share with you what the Bible says. Please keep in mind I didn't say anyone was going to kill your niece. I think that's reading into the Bible what's not there.

But in answer to your question, yes her life will probably be haunted with his iniquity. That is to say, Jesus will likely withhold His Blessings from her, nor will He listen to her prayers (Isaiah 1:15). But the LORD is merciful, and perhaps He will deign to let her grandchildren taste sweet Salvation if she teaches them the Gospel and they hold firm to it and accept Christ. So rejoice!

            Dear Mrs. Onmyknees,
I know this may sound like a strange question but, if you do not mind this intrusion, was the child of your sister born in or out of the sanctity of wedlock. I ask this as I would then be able to draw a conclusion from my own perspective. The thing is dear, in order to formulate a pious and proper advisement in accordance with both God's and local laws, we need all the sordid details. Don't leave anything out.

Unfortunately she was conceived in a bed of fornication. They married before her birth but of course by the sin had already been committed. Of course, being 3 she does not yet know the whorish ways of her parents.

I am sorry I was remiss in the details Brother

                Dear Mrs Onmyknees,

Please tell me, after the rape of your sister, were the following conditions met:
                Deuteronomy Chapter 22

                28 If a man find a damsel [that is] a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

If not I believe that the child of your possibly unwed sister, who may or may not have been raped, may have unwittingly damned her own children to an eternity of torment unto the tenth generation by having a mother in a relationship that does not meet God's Will to the exact letter.

Brother Thomas, thank you again for your thorough approach to God's word, and your prompt replies.

She was not raped. She is in fact, just a harlot. I grieve to tell you these conditions were not met. Not any of them.

Her mother is causing much pain to her future generations, such as Lamentations 5:7 says "Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities."

My only hope now is that once the curse of her mother has passed that the generation after can find God and can be with him in Heaven.

Thank you brother. Though the truth may be a painful thing, it is far better to live in the truth than fall for Satan's lies.

                    Her great-grand children, maybe:

Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth [generation].

But since the child was born out of wedlock, that curse actually extends for 10 generations:

Deuteronomy 23:2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

I hope that was helpful. I wouldn't waste my time praying for that one.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my wording, I was meaning after the 10th generation has given birth to the 11th.

I shall not pray over it for as Sister Mary said, it's foolish to throw your pearls before a pig.

It is just something that would be beautiful to know but I am sure a generation somewhere between her and the 10th will stumble and extend the torment.

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses
