  • Pray for me and my wife

I wasnt gonna say nothing about this cause I don't know how ya'll will take it but I guess I mite as well. Me and my wife have ben trying to have us a kid for a couple years now but we aint had no luck. The preacher says we should be able to but we just can't. We pray like crazy that we can have a little Christian soldier to raise in the fear of the Lord, but Jesus aint seen fit to give us a young'un yet. Can you all pray for me and my wife so we can have a child together. Thanks.

Have you considered fertility treatments? Do you have eight bedrooms?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Re: Pray for me and my wife

My first thoughts are that with The Lord all things are possible; Ge:17:17: Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

The answer was, of course, "Yes.", so I'm sure there is no hurry, as it is often this rushed approach; desperately taking every opportunity, which might lead to poor eyesight and a general febrile nature in yourself and exhaustion in your wife - this will not help and additionally your wife may find it an inconvenience.

Brother, I believe Mrs. Christianson has some helpful advice for couples with fewer than 6 children here:

A place where parents can get good Godly advice on how to raise a family: how to properly administer corporal punishment, which movies to avoid, and more!

I'd like to congratulate JR for finding the search feature. WS could have done the same, but he's pretty new here. There is a lot of wisdom to be found in the depths of this forum, and you have to search like Indiana Jones to find it.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

There isn't a doctor nearby enough to perform those and we choose to stay away from them anyway. There just not natural. We live in a small house so we only have two bedrooms. We bought it with two so we wouldn't have to more when we did have children, but we use it for storage right now.

Pray for me, pray for me! Whine Whine Whine!!!!
You pray for you. If you'd been on your knees praying enough, and God wanted it, you's have 25 or 30 little Christian soldiers running around by now!
It's your fault or else your wife's fault.
              Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Re: Pray for me and my wife

All due respect, sir, the only reason I asked is because I'm at my wit's end. I know it's the will of God that I have plenty of beautiful children running around and I've asked him plenty of times to give me children. Here at Landover Baptist Church are the most Godly, holy, righteous people I've ever seen. You're in touch with Jesus in ways I can't even imagine. I'm asking you to use that closeness with Jesus to try to get him to give me a few kids.

And if that doesn't work, I'm going to have my wife tested for barrenness.

I hope the elders of this forum will excuse such a personal question but... Mr. Snodgrass, apart from praying, have you and your wife been doing anything else to get a baby?

Re: Pray for me and my wife

I did just what the Bible says. I knew my wife, like in Genesis 4:1. Every last thing about her. I know her favorite color, her best friend, her fondest memory...I know her like I know myself. We know so much about each other that we can finish each others sentences, but she still won't concieve. Honestly, I'm wondering if the Lord has cursed her with barrenness. Whatever it is, it's according to God's will. Like Job said, the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

Ask God for this and Jesus for that! You better start asking what you can do for them!!! How do YOU know God's will?

The Bible said "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it" in Genesis 1:28. I thought that applied to all of us.

That, I fear, may be the problem. Perhaps you and your wife should read the thread here:

You don't have enough faith to wait until God is good and ready? Maybe your wife will get hit by a truck tomorrow and you'll get a new fertile one next month. Never question God.
