No, I'm sorry, that's a terrible thing. It's NEVER ok to hit a woman. You're an adult with her own mind and opinions, who will make mistakes or just does something that someone else necessarily agree with. That's no reason at all for you to be hit, that just makes you human. Seriously, I am sorry for the situation you're in.

What suffering? Who ever said I was suffering? If a child tries to touch the burner on a hot stove, are they suffering if you spank them to keep them from being hurt worse?
My husband, Mr. Whitford, is only trying to keep me from ETERNAL suffering! THAT is LOVE!

I had to highlight that one line. I am an adult with my own mind and opinions, and yet you feel sorry for me when I exercise that by marrying a Godly husband who uses every means to ensure I stay on the Narrow Path to Salvation.

If you knew that by someone making an innocent mistake they might be killed would you stop them? Or, would you do whatever you thought was necessary to keep them from making this mistake? My wife is the second most important thing in my life. I would do ANYTHING to protect her and keep her in the Lord's good favor. ANYTHING!!!
38 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us."
39 Jesus replied, "Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me.

That is just not true at all and you know it. Besides, who would believe anything coming from someone with a name like yours?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

So a woman kills your parents, has a gun trained on you little sister, you would not wail on the crazed female? You would let her continue her bloody rampage?
In the eyes of secular law, a woman and a man are the same, ever hear of equal rights? In Biblical law, women are less than men (which is accurate). So if you apply either law, it proves hitting is OK if there is a reason.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

What do you tell a woman with 2 black eyes ??

                      A:

Nothing, she has already been told twice.
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.

What's the first thing a woman should so upon returning home from the battered wives shelter?

                            A.

Never, she is merely a woman.
