Friend, the whole world cares because being able to communicate clearly can make a BIG difference. Literacy allows one the ability to tell whether GOD said He made Adam and Eve or Adam and Steve. It allows you reading comprehension skills so you can understand what the Bible REALLY says instead of what you WANT it to say.

It gives you credibility when you talk to people because you can convey ideas. It sets a good example for children. It gets you respect. Without it you get no respect, no good job, no good relationship with GOD. And it makes the people who raised you look bad because they didn't love you enough to make you go to school.
