Hello, your thread is the first encounter with this website/forum that I have had here so Ill be quick to say I have no idea what the rules or courtesies are. Anyway a little about me and my background in my faith in Christ. My faith in the lord our savior had started at an early age, I was never really certain why we went to church on Sunday to pray for some guy named Jesus. All I knew was I didn't mind the extra toys that were there to play with. It was all great, once I grew older I found it most common that a member of the church would accept Christ our lord and savior into our hearts through a ceremony called baptism. I was baptized my family was proud and I became a member the church wanted to have. Well that lasted until about high school, I went to church less frequently, I rarely ever prayed. Still though I kept my faith in the fact that the lord would do something great in my life. Once I left the high school, I joined the army. Yes that is correct I am a soldier here at Ft. Hood. I have served in the US ARMY for almost two years now. As I said today I found this thread you have typed up, and let me tell you how appalled I am that you can even feel any connection between Jesus and a video game. You have brought something so majestic and pure (the lord dying on the cross for billions of people he didn't even know) and brought it down to this degrading level. Who the hell are you to tell me or anyone else what a soldier is, I have done things in Iraq against the Muslim religion I wouldn't feel safe telling god himself. Your views and extreme pressure from your religion are going to make me renounce my faith in god today. I can't be a part of a religion that teaches people to judge, teaches people to spread hatred at things that are "the devils work" to the populous. I feel sorry for your children, I feel sorry that they have no free will to worship as they believe right. To have a choice to play the violent video games they want to play if they chose to do so. You say this is god's country but the entire institution of free will to practice any religion you so damn well please is in place so that you and others may practice as they wish. With that being said who are you to take this twisted view of Christianity or Baptism and turn it into your own product of hate. You sicken me, and it is because of you I no longer believe in god. Oh and your little Muslim emoticon of them being blown up is disgusting how do you intolerant bastards sleep at night.

There may be many things in the bible that, when translated, may confuse the meaning of things. It's impossible to follow the Bible 100% exactly and I am confident that no one here does it (not trying to be derogatory, just saying. We're human. We can't be perfect.)

Hello, Just hear me out on this. I will stay as partial and respectufull as I can.

I would like to say to so many of you that the things you see in the world today are terrible and are in no way justifiable by any means. A lot of these terrible things have happened on this forum thread!

1. I see a number of the devout calling other posters "homosexual pot smoking retards" is unreasonably high, and is wrong in any sense. Firstly how is smoking pot a sin? Was it not God that created all life on Earth? Is Cannabis not a live plant? So think again before you insult someone for smoking cannabis. Secondly "retards" as the believers have labeled some people are actually psychically and mentally challenged people which also, by the way, were created by God as you believe. So calling someone like so and also laughing at them is WRONG (and a sin in my view). Besides some of the spelling and grammar I have seen here coming from the believers is atrocious and can easily qualify you as a mentally challenged patient. Or is it that you simply did not go to school, since the Bible is so anti-science and education? Lastly is it not God that game us the power of free will? So Homosexuality is a choice or an ilness? That is a big question, and i will leave it at that, I am not willing to get into the argument about it.

2. The number of people supporting the Military is very large in these 11 pages. However did you forget that Killing is wrong? And that it is wrong in every way and there is no justification for it or around it? In Islam it is in the Koran that killing or martyrdom is only acceptable in situations of defence of the Lord. That is not the way it is applied in Iraq or Afghanistan, where killing is in the name Land. In the Bible it does not say anywhere that killing is allowed under any circumstance. So please stop your "Our Military is brave" and so on. The US of A military is not brave, brave is when you are outnumbered and outgunned and are still fighting to protect your rights even if it means certain death. Furthermore the racism is so spread among the believers. Why is it that you have to point out race? Is a person of a different color not worthy the rights you have? It is absolutely disgusting the way you use that against someone! And once again wasn't everyone created equal in God's view?

3. About TF2. The game is absolutely fine and is rated M (that's for Mature for the mentally challenged) so if your child is 15 he is NOT mature and should NOT be playing the game, and that is up to YOU to monitor that. You cannot blame your disregard on someone else. Take the responsibility. Furthermore the game has options that turn off the SPEECH from the characters, they can also turn off ALL the BLOOD and GORE if it does not suit them. My brother who is 12 was able to find those options, it takes a little bit of reading and THINKING. If a 12 year old can do it, so should the parent, otherwise you are just simply "mentally handicapped" and should not be allowed to have children. Lastly the "Get behind me doctor" phrase that the HEAVY (yes thats the characters name) shouts is as simple as this: a TACTICAL move. If the OP had a little life and though in the brain she/he would realise that the medic is very weak and cannot defend himself without a partner which can defend him. But just the thought that it is a homosexual phrase is pathetic and shows how narrow minded some of you can be.

Lastly It is pathetic that anyone who argues with you become and anti-Jesus and will burn in hell while you see yourselves as angels. Pathetic and very disappointing at the least. I believe in God and i believe that there can be only ONE God however i do not believe in religion and especially a religion that discriminates against others and the less fortunate. These types of people come across as Bible Bashers that have no education, do not believe in medicine and have no theoretical or intuitive thinking and that is very sad.

Lastly i would like to say this: Educate yourself before you go out and start preaching that you are right and everyone else is wrong.

P.S also is it not funny that there is this "Guaranteeing you Salvation"? In my view that just plain stupid and uneducated.

Friend, I have read it and not just a verse or two taken out of context like you have.
Many people make the mistake of reading what the Bible says in Exodus 20:13, “You shall not kill,” and then seeking to apply this command to war. However, the Hebrew word literally means “the intentional, premeditated killing of another person with malice; murder.” God often ordered the Israelites to go to war with other nations (1 Samuel 15:3; Joshua 4:13). God ordered the death penalty for numerous crimes (Exodus 21:12, 15; 22:19; Leviticus 20:11). So, God is not against killing in all circumstances, but only murder. War is never a good thing, but sometimes it is a necessary thing. In a world filled with sinful people (Romans 3:10-18), war is inevitable. Sometimes the only way to keep sinful people from doing great harm to the innocent is by going to war. That means killing people, taking them out, snuffing the lights of the Heathens and tossing them into the fires of Hell.

In the Old Testament, God ordered the Israelites to “take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites” (Numbers 31:2). Deuteronomy 20:16-17 declares, “However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them…as the LORD your God has commanded you.” Also, 1 Samuel 15:18 says, “Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites; make war on them until you have wiped them out.” Obviously God is not against all war. Jesus is always in perfect agreement with the Father (John 10:30), so we cannot argue that war was only God’s will in the Old Testament. God does not change (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17). There is a war going on friend, a war that God is waging against sinners. Either you are with us or you are against us. Which are you, friend?

Jesus’ second coming will be exceedingly violent. Revelation 19:11-21 describes the ultimate war with Christ, the conquering commander who judges and makes war “with justice” (v. 11). It’s going to be bloody (v. 13) and gory. The birds will eat the flesh of all those who oppose Him (v. 17-18). He has no compassion upon His enemies, whom He will conquer completely and consign to a “fiery lake of burning sulfur” (v. 20). I do not know about you but I do not want to have my flesh burned for eternity. How about you?

It is an error to say that God never supports a war. Jesus is not a pacifist. In a world filled with evil people, sometimes war is necessary to prevent even greater evil. If Hitler had not been defeated by World War II, how many more millions would have been killed? If the American Civil War had not been fought, how much longer would African-Americans have had to suffer as slaves? If that is not compassion, I do not know what is.

War is a terrible thing. Some wars are more “just” than others, but war is always the result of sin (Romans 3:10-18). At the same time, Ecclesiastes 3:8 declares, “There is…a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” In a world filled with sin, hatred, and evil (Romans 3:10-18), war is inevitable. Christians should not desire war, but neither are Christians to oppose the government God has placed in authority over them (Romans 13:1-4; 1 Peter 2:17). The most important thing we can be doing in a time of war is to be praying for godly wisdom for our leaders, praying for the safety of our military, praying for quick resolution to conflicts, and praying for a minimum of casualties among civilians on both sides (Philippians 4:6-7). For the good of the many, a few must suffer. That is a pretty good deal if you ask me.
