hi all

first i must say thank you all for this board so i can keep my son away from nasty stuff the devil puts on this earth

as grateful as i am i am here to tell you all to ban team fortress 2 (abbreviated as TF2) for the following reasons

i discovered about it this weekend when my 15 year old son charlie brought home his friend and they were playing on his friend's laptop a game where it's nothing but killing, bad words, god bashing, anti-american propaganda, and worst of all HOMOSEXUALITY

first off this is their artwork they use to advertise to the MASSES



as you can see, they all are posed to look threatening (i guess that's what boys like these days)

there is also blantent homosexuality (when the doctor heals his patients they all say things like "i love this doctor" or "get behind me doctor!")

they made a character that looks like a soldier and he talks about god's world being his ("this is my world, you are not welcome in my world!") when i heard this i was MORBIDLY SHOCKED and appalled and ashamed of my son and he knew it

i was wondering why my son was getting into fights and after i saw this i banned him from ever seeing his friends

if you see your child playing this, tell them to uninstall it and watch him do it!!!

First of all what is your problem with homosexuality cause it is a genetic thing this is how you are born.And i played tf2 and if you want to know the soldier is not gay, you said that in this game is nothing but killing but i made really good friends in that game i have 500 hours played in that game and i dont regret and why you believe that this game is violent if you are really afraid of your child to play a game you should be aware of Witcher series,GTA series and other games

Ahem. First of all, learn how to make proper use of the quote function, Purple Comet person. From the manner in which you posted, it can be confusing to work out which are your opinions and which are those of the OP.


Second of all, please take a moment to note the page number length of this thread, as well as the number of posts. Your post is nearly the 3500 th of 175 pages. Do you honestly think that you have contributed any new information or original arguments to this discussion?


Third of all, in answer to your question, "What is your problem with homosexuality", the answer is that God has a problem with homosexuality as evidenced by the many Bible verses condeming it and the harsh penalties proscribed as punishment on those who practice it.


Speaking solely for myself, I don't have a "problem" with homosexuality because it has no presence in my life.


I feel no such urges nor observe such behavior around me. However, Almighty God observes everything in the universe. And He took the time to declare same sex relations as an abomination. He didn't even declare slavery to be an abomination. Genocide isn't even condemed in His Holy Word, (in fact, He often commands it) but gay stuff is.


So, given that this site belongs to and is maintained by folks who proclaim the Truth™ about the Bible and insist that it cannot be followed conditionally without negating its own authority, then you should know better than to make pointless, personal declarations about homosexuality being genetic.


Also, you really don't regret spending 500 hours of your life playing a game? Well, how about you spend five or ten minutes reading the Bible and find a few of those verses that condemn homosexuality?

Multiple reasons, dear sinner.

1. In fact, the burden of proof is not on us. You're just trying to shift it - a common rhetorical device in the gamer/reddit/4Chan communities, where people are unaware of argumentation and fallacies. The person making the claim (that is you, as you introduced the "official site" as proof) is the one with the burden. On addition, negative statements (e.g., this vaccine will not work) are generally not the ones with the burden (the absolute negative cannot be proven) but the positive statements (I have a great vaccine and it works - that's what you need to prove: The efficacy, not the inefficacy). An example of such a statement is: They are reliable. Even Jesus knows that the burden is on you.

2. That said, I'll humor you. Reason 2. Conflict of interest. The makers of this silly but utterly harmful game have in their interest to keep it popular due to financial reasons and due to the prestige that this game brings them. In contrast, God has no conflict of interest as he is Omnipotent (Revelation 19:6). In addition, He is always reliable. If a stupid game presents issues that may possibly oppose God, they must be false.

3. I'll humor you some more. As this game is not of the Bible, it is unnecessary, and not only unnecessary but it contains fantasies, even imagination. Imagination is not reliable as it alienates people from God.

Ive played TF2 for nearly 3 years, have over a 1000 hours, and have several rare items, and i dont see anything wrong about it.

I see it as a way to take out anger on other people without raging at them

Everybody prayed in their lifes, as a kid, teen, adult, atleast once in the lifetime.
Everybody that went to school did.
Why would he need to sew something?
When it comes to building part, do you mean building your character, relationship with loved ones or making a tower from LEGOs?

"Sugestive" is subjective, don't you think? Maybe if they weren't half naked, no one would think that pose as "sugestive".
