Re: Will Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim be ok to play or will it be evil

I play the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and I can tell you it is not an evil game.

The main plot is about you defeating dragons. In everything you do in Skyrim, you have choice. Other then dragons, you don't even have to use a weapon. You don't have to kill.

You can fight your your morals to. In the game you can join the Imperial Leagon and fight to stop false god worship. You can fight to stop murderers and bandits.

You could also kill innocent people, murder do witchcraft and steal, but if that makes something evil, then life is evil. Skyrim is only as evil as life is. They both have potential, and choice.
Ephesians 4:31-4:32 "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you."

All that means is that satan has tricked you into doing his bidding. Go back and read this thread from the first post. You might just find the Holy Spirit along the way.

We know dragons are really another form of Satan (read Revelation, chapter 12). Also from what I heard, it takes place in a Nordic country like Norway or Iceland, so there will probably a lot of norse god worship in the game as well.

And I've read it is being released on 11/11/11. That is some pagan numerology right there.

I think it goes without saying that you should not even play this game.

I read about this game. The main character is a "Dragon born" and becomes more powerful by killing dragons and absorbing their "souls". That coupled with the rampant witchcraft and the fact that you can choose to become a werewolf or a vampire is all the evidence one needs to see the Satanic messages throughout the game. Turn off the video games and pick up a Bible.

Re: Will Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim be ok to play or will it be evil

Discarding Skyrim for what one CAN do in the game simply does not make sense. Yes, Skyrim allows you to run around a town, killing every villager, stealing every item from every house, etc. One does not have to do this, though. I, for one, prefer to play the game from a lawful/good standpoint (that is, following all applicable laws with a general motive of being a good person).

Discrediting Skyrim for what one CAN do simply does not make sense. You can, if you so choose, walk outside of your house right now, punch the next person you see, steal every dime they have, shoot every cop that tries to stop you, and go about your day. If life, like Skyrim, is full of such temptations, what are we to do? Shall we simply stay in our homes and avoid human interactions in order to avoid temptation? Or is it better to go out and face the world and rise above the temptations? Could Skyrim have this effect? Can one play Skyrim with the goal of being the best person to walk the continent of Tamriel? Can a player make it his purpose to eliminate the Theives Guild, the Dark Brotherhood (Assassin's Guild), or the Daedric worshipers? Sure, eliminating these guilds likely will cause the player to resort to violent measures, but even one of your emoticons listed on this forum depicts the bombing of caricatures of terrorists (). If it is wrong to kill those who you do not agree with in a video game (guild of thieves, assassins, or demon worshipers), is it wrong to kill those in real life who do not agree with you (worship a different god)?

I will give you that Skyrim is a very violent game, and much violence (arguably) cannot be avoided. However, this person was able to navigate much of the game without partaking in any violent acts (http://elder-geek.com/2012/02/non-vi...rough-results/). Violence was avoided through sneaking through areas, pick-pocketing would be attackers to disarm them, and using diplomatic dialog to navigate otherwise sticky situations. While he likely used some "magic" to calm attackers or make himself invisible or "potions" to restore health, this is hardly of the order of killing children or summoning a fire demon to fight by your side.

The beauty of games like Skyrim is that it is a sandbox. It allows players to make their own decisions, to construct their own sense of morality. Yes, it is possible to kill a random villager in a town, but doing so has many consequences. Every guard in the town will instantly try to apprehend you after doing so. It certainly reduces your popularity in the town, and this is reflected in future quests and dialog with other characters. In my experience with the game, it is much easier to play through the game as a "nice guy."

In the end, Skyrim is rated "M" for a reason. I understand that the violence may be too much for some users, and it certainly may be impressionable on younger players. There is a reason the ESRB recommends the game to be played by only those ages 17 and over.

Any "magic" or "spell" is satanic. This game is full of them, so it is a satanic game. Simple as that.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Re: Will Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim be ok to play or will it be evil

I can concede that point. Actually, the playthrough example I gave made him rely on a fair amount of pick-pocketing and stealing to get through the game. Which isn't good, but I suppose you could simply weigh that against killing a bunch of people.

To counter this, I present the idea that one could play Skyrim without doing either of these. If one desires, one could simply pick up an axe to cut some wood, pick flowers and plants to sell to merchants, gather ingredients to cook in the game, etc. While this is hardly the main focus of the game, it could simply be done. I would even argue that it is better for someone to pick up Skyrim and do only these tasks than to simply not play the game at all. The architecture and vast open landscapes drawn in this game are absolutely amazing, especially when taking the idea of where game development has came from.

Yes, you may still be surrounded by "magic", "spells", "demons", or other similar items, but again I believe this is no different than what is seen in every day life.

You could, if you wanted to ignore what the Bible says:

James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

Exodus 20:3 states 'thou shalt have no other gods before me' yet you seem to be worshiping the creator of these false, satanic realms. Instead of living in an evil fantasy world, maybe you should study the KJV, you might learn something.

After spending the last three months playing Skyrim in the Landover Game Research Facility I can personally testify that Skyrim leads to perversions! When you install the user mods Satan's plan for Skyrim becomes clear - you are turned into a blood crazed monster who goes around wrestling other men to the ground before RAPING and MURDERING them!

Yes, this is the game Bethesda has forced DOWN the throats of THOUSANDS of young American men like they were so many twinks in a SF gay bar! Skyrim is turning our nations young men into a bunch of sexually confused fanatics hell bent on forcing some archaic mythology were women are property and anyone who isn't blond hair blue eyed ("Nords" as the game calls it) are just slaves to exploited.

Worse yet, Skyrim allows for gay marriage! EVERY one of thirty four games I played my character ended up marrying Vilkas in Whiterun just so my character could have a three some with Vilkas and his disgusting, over muscled power bear brother Farkas. I was UTTERLY helpless to prevent this. This is what Skyrim is all about!

As a TRUE Christian™, Skyrim sickens me.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Life isn't "fair," dear. If it were, we would all be sent to Hell right away for our crimes against a Perfect God. Instead, He shows us Mercy (certain restrictions may apply)! That's not "fair." It's a far cry better than "fair."

skyrim is ok to play. its fun to play you can fight evil bandits. use magic to free a man wrongly put in prison, ride a horse, grow a nice little garden, make potions of varying effects, hunt, read books that vary in the hundereds, fish.. kinda the game dosent have a fishing mechanic so you have to jump in the water to get the fish., and over all have a grand adventure. the universe of the elder scrolls is amazing and rich in ideas and characters. The game is pritty much a fantasy story that you write your self where you can be a sneaky assassin working for dark forces that desides to give up a life of evil ,build a home, get married, adopt 2 kids, and read books near the fire place. only to don the mask once more to exact revenge on a vampire that killed your wife. and after all that you still have the in-game story to go. i suggest buy the game on steam when there is a sale with all the dlc
