They do. Many violent games require the buyer to be above 18 years of age. Its the irresponsible parent that buys everything without looking what its about.
Portal is not violent at all. Its a puzzle game, which requires you to analyze your environment and think about the puzzle. I dont see how that could turn someone into a killing, raping monster.

Now imagine a responsible parent wanting to ensure that the children learn proper values based on a deep faith in Christianity. God is right without question. The Bible is without question to be followed as the sole source of morals and science. Crazy modern ideas like evolution are obviously to be resisted and discredited as they deny the Bible's essential Truth. Indeed the very idea that there could have been such things as moon landings or a solar system is heretical.

There is only one source of reliable information about God. Anything that denies that it is literally true dismantles the whole basis for our faith.

Can you see now why this sort of mind-rape by video games is not worth the risk.

I wanted to submit a few friendly pointers on what I mean.

I'm a very holy Christian, and serve our Lord every week at church.

I hope you will take the time to listen to my points, as I only want to help resolve this misunderstanding.

Now I have researched this game, and I discovered that the main story of the game is, in fact, a wonderful metaphor for our transcendence to Heaven.

The player must pass through a series of challenges, avoiding deceit and temptation, until they are eventually "free" (This is a metaphor for the challenges life gives us, and how if we resist, we will reach Heaven!)

The game also contains a "Bad guy"- This is a metaphor for the Devil. To properly progress, we must ignore this demon and defeat the evil within us. This is what happens in the final level, where the player destroys the "Evil" character, and ascends to Heaven where they are free.

I see it as a motivating tale for our path to freedom in God's Holy Kingdom.

These "Portals" are not symbolic of any unclean act! They simply represent the talents that God gives us to make it through life faithfully.

Not to sound disrespectful, but I do not know where Cranky got "Anal sex" from. All the portals are, are simple holes. If someone told me about "holes", natural heterosexual sex would come to mind before anal sex. Just saying.

Hello again friends. I have read through the thread several times, and as a few posters pointed out, Steam has not given away credit card information.

Update: Doug Lombardi, director of marketing for Steam, tells 1UP, "There has been no security breach of Steam"

This shows that the alleged "credit card scandal" was false and just a huge misunderstanding! This is why we should look more closely: I believe that your understanding of Portal 2 as some sort of gateway into homosexuality is 100% wrong!
