The problem with that bridge is was that it was built without taking into account vortex shedding (which I am NOT going explain here, go take a Mechanical Engineering degree if you're curious). The vortices were being shed at the bridge's own natural resonance frequency, which caused the oscillations in the bridge to build up to the point that the bridge tore itself apart. It's actually much the same phenomenon which allows a skilled singer to shatter glass only using his voice. Skip to about 4:30 in this:

I still remember being distinctly disappointed when to my horror I discovered that "My Little Pony" referred to a glitter-flavored brand of sin (GOD did not make ponies pink and sparkly, and I'm certainly not allowing my children to get addicted to "love" or especially "tolerance" from anyone other than Jesus himself!) rather than an easy way to introduce to my children the joys of taking care of and then selling horses. I suppose it's for the best that I don't expose them to the potential to develop bestial lusts for horses, Lord knows we've all had our struggles where that temptation is concerned (I'm afraid they might have inherited their mother's propensity to struggle with it), but I guess that now there's some sort of sick "adult market" for these toys! Can't my children just have one day, one day where they aren't bombarded with witchcraft or magic?

America's suck-ular youth never cease to amaze and disgust me with the new ways they find to blaspheme against the Lord's creation. Perhaps instead of watching the latest episode of My Little Satanic Idol, they should have been reading Deuteronomy 22:5! Hello. You are right that it is not a co-incidence that the blue pegasus known as "rainbow dash" has the same colours. However, these same colours are also used in computer ribbon cable, and in electronics. Its just the ROYGBIV colour scheme most often attributed to actual rainbows.

The character in question is coloured after that of a rainbow. She is meant to be female and heterosexual, and (as a pegasus) entirely fictional. (Though she is characterised as a tomboy by some critics.)

I doubt that this is an intentional reference to any flag. This is the 4th rendering of the character which originally dates back to the 1980's, and I would think that it predates the flag to which you refer.

I'm a very poor christian, and a sinner, but I still feel that if christians are to criticise a childrens' television show then it should be from a rock solid base of fact. To me this feels like it might be a misunderstanding of the character.

That's a bit absurd, don't you think? ^^ My Little Pony is a wonderful show for small children. What older fans may do with it will not affect your children. Rainbow Dash is not a lesbian, and magic has always been a part of children's television and literature. In fact, the rainbow was first used as a sign of God's love. (Genesis 8:13) Now on the other hand, if these "influences" do start to affect your children (which shouldn't happen if you restrict your child's access to the interwebz ), then what you do afterwards is up to you. Just don't be too rash, k? Be the loving father God wants you to be and everything will be ok.
