If are the books you have been reading, I imagine that in addition to promoting teenage whoredom and obesity, they are poorly spelt and badly punctuated.

I think all books of fiction should be burned. No one can be a better person by reading falsehoods. In this group, I include all science books where the science is not verified by the KJV Bible. Any book of 'theory' is just a bunch of made up hogwash.
Biographies, Dictionaries, Thesaurus's and the Bible are the only books we need. Every word and important thought is contained within them. Why do we need other books that jumble it up and distort the True Meanings?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Do I even need to say why??

Any geology textbook - spreading the shibboleth of "carbon dating" and "erosion" as "proof" that the world is millions of years old

Any paleontology or archeology textooks for their claims that round counter to the fact that the earth is 6,000 years old.

Sorry, I was suggesting for them, personally I love everything I put on that list but it's like stuff that goes against their religion, or they might personally hate.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)

What a sad thought that God loves burning books.

Never burn books. Books are our own safeguard keeping us from jumping off cliffs. Books are the greatest thing we made. You burn a book you burn the soul not only that of the writers but of your own as well. If you burn any books I hope you burn in hell. Burning books is the worst sin one can do.

Hello, Fireburp. Following your logic, people who lived before the advent of writing must have faced mass extinction due to jumping off cliffs.

I must inform you that your unusual hypothesis does not have any archaeological evidence to back it up. Also, if I may use my own experience - the illiterate people are some of the happiest people I've ever known. Not a single one of them jumped off a cliff or did something similarly stupid.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Seriously are you guy so ingrossed in your "100% true" bible you don't know what symbolism or hyperbolies are? They are not meant to be taken literally just used to make a statement.

No, I do not know what "hyperbolies" are. By any chance, did you mean hyperbolae/hyperbolas?

Please note that the book-burning verse is not from a parable, but from the plain and simple description of the works of the Apostles after the death and resurrection of Jesus.

If that part of the Bible is not meant to be taken literally, what about crucifixion and resurrection? Or Jesus' sermons? Are these not to be taken literally as well?

Gosh, cherry-pickers are so dumb. Why don't you cherry-pick Mein Kampf instead of the Bible. I'm sure that if you don't take it literally, you could find many things that fit your particular point of view.

Can you show scripture to back this ridiculous claim? The Bible tells us what is sinful, so if burning books is a sin, it has to be in the Bible.
Psalm 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

It is not a sin of the bible. Burning books is a sin of humanity. If you want a related biblical sin then how about thou shall not kill.

A hyperbole is an extreme exaggeration. The parts of the bible that you shouldn't take literally are well thinking you are superior for one thing.
